Ths poll is assuming Laidley wants to stay?
If that is the case, I'd keep Laidley in the senior role. If (and I don't think he will) Laidley walks, then Pagan for senior coach.
Otherwise, perhaps working specifically with the younger players. The one doubt there is: after being a senior coach for so long, could he work under another coach - especially one he coached himself? With two VFL affiliates we need to do a bit more than some in terms of player development across two other clubs, he could fit in there.

As much as it sounds sentimentally nice to find a role for Denis, I don't think he is suited to any of those roles other than senior coach.

Not sure if the "home coming" is ever going to be more than as a supporter in retirement.

Yep.

I don't think Pagan should be allowed to come back in any official capacity at North. Whether it's real or perceived, he will cast a shadow over the current coaching panel. Imagine if Pagan got sacked from Carlton last year and was given a job at North - 3 games in with 3 losses, and the media would have had a field day with stories on Pagan taking over from Laidley. Any benefit we would get from Pagan would be cancelled out by the prospect of instability if our team goes through a poor patch of form.

Also think back to what happened when David Parkin was given a role at Hawthorn. Every few weeks, he would make statements to the media that put pressure on their coaches. Whilst I think that Pagan is far more controlled in his media relations than Parkin ever was, the media would still be asking Pagan for quotes.

Shinboners has a good point. I'm not sure he could work under somebody else either, and having a recent senior coach in the mix could undermine (whether real or media driven) the actual coach.

He can come back anytime he likes as far as I am concerned. But only in the role of a man who played at the club for 8 years, nutured some of the star players in our club's history as U19s coach for 10 years and who was at helm in an era that gave us all some wonderful memories for 10 years.

As Shinboners said, having him there in any official capacity would be completely unworkable. But he should be recognised as a man whose contribution to the club, regardless of any perceived circumstances of his departure, was phenomenal and he should be embraced as such.

Worst aussie accent ever... good scene but. The Bells beach scene was filmed in Hawaii.

Almost totally agree.

However if he wanted to help out Nev and Laurie as a scout Nth should consider it as he was a great under age coach.
