From that morally bankrupt cow. LOLCaroline Wilson saying it would be morally wrong to host the GF in Perth lol. Saying the AFL is torn on where to host the GF.

I will.Part of me doesn't mind if the GF is at the Gabba - it just means less of an * if we win it.
If we win the big one at home noone will respect it.
I unfortunately caught some of Footy Classified whilst doing the dishes last night, and I couldn't belive the amazing story Caro and Hutchy had concocted for themselves.Caroline Wilson saying it would be morally wrong to host the GF in Perth lol. Saying the AFL is torn on where to host the GF.

I could be wrong but wasn't she the one harping on about how ANZ stadium should host ( When games were being playing NSW) the GF because it can fit more supporters?
Luckily it is a small minority in the media that think it shouldn't be in WA because they can at least see the merit in playing in a footy mad state that would be an actual spectacle to watch on GF day.
IF the Gabba wins it there will be a big on their face if come GF day and the Lions are not not in the GF and it is half full. Im not convinced there will be massive growth towards to the game there was Covid is finished.
It will be half full anyway. Queensland government has already said so.I could be wrong but wasn't she the one harping on about how ANZ stadium should host ( When games were being playing NSW) the GF because it can fit more supporters?

Who cares about the *. I love *. All the best premierships have an * in them.Part of me doesn't mind if the GF is at the Gabba - it just means less of an * if we win it.

I was kinda glad they cut over to Kornes. The $narrative$ that the WA govt was somehow screwing the AFL at every opportunity whilst the Qld govt bent over backwards was getting a bit much.Luckily it is a small minority in the media that think it shouldn't be in WA because they can at least see the merit in playing in a footy mad state that would be an actual spectacle to watch on GF day.
When you just about to launch, think about caro, the missus will appreciate it.

Yeah it’s another classic case of the AFL taking the WA and SA support for granted and not giving back even when there’s a huge opportunity. “Look, we’re going to get full stadiums in those states until the end of time so let’s cheat a little and try to use this to our advantage in QLD”.If we can’t have the GF, I want Adelaide to have it. For the same reasons I wanted us to have it, reward a football state with the once in a lifetime non-Vic GF. The fans that support the sport deserve that.
fu** Queensland.
Little to no chance of getting full capacity crowds at Optus or in SA.Yeah it’s another classic case of the AFL taking the WA and SA support for granted and not giving back even when there’s a huge opportunity. “Look, we’re going to get full stadiums in those states until the end of time so let’s cheat a little and try to use this to our advantage in QLD”.
Sure QLD have possibly helped out a little more this year but we’re a little more worried about keeping people alive. How about the last 30 years where West Aussies have voted with their feet almost every week and propped up the AFL without so much as a thankyou.
It should be us first and foremost because of the safety of the state, Optus being the next best stadium in the country and the potential for 60k crowds. If our restrictions don’t allow for the above then it should fall to SA, that should be the end of discussion imo. (Although.. do SA actually want it? I’m sure I read somewhere that they pulled out?)
i fully believe the nonstop shilling for a qld gf was driven purely by their pathetic fear optus will outshine the mcg and to win one over wa while also trying to limit the damage wce could do to their season. the depressed tone in whateley's voice on 360 last night when he talked about wa maintaining restrictions for another few months, it's like a sense of buyers remorse kicked in as it dawned on him how awful a spectacle a half full gabba gf will be.
yeah tbh he's been pretty fair but he's still running with the talking points direct from afl house which have been: 1) the season would've been cancelled without qld and 2) we have a moral duty to host the gf in qld because of talking point 1.Whately hasn't been too bad pushing for a WA GF for the past couple of months.
Being a Vic I’m confused to what’s happening with WA and quarantine. Would we be able to host a final or potentially 2 in Perth like Port will or will we be based in QLD for the whole series?
We'd have to re-enter quarantine, which we've said we are willing to do.
Just like how the 2 non-WA teams have been allowed to play each other at Optus while completing their 14 day quarantine.
Thought so. Can the other side do FIFO?
What other grounds would have been suitable? Couldn't play all on the hallowed turf of the craypot. As long as theyre in quarantine no reason they cant.
To be fair to Marc McGowan, he repeatedly offered to host a hub as long as quarantine was met. The AFL actually could have moved 5-6 teams to Perth and given what actually played out in Vic it could have been achieved.
In fact what I would have looked at doing would be to have the MCG tenants play 'home' at our MCG replica ground.
