Carlton finishing 'above' us in the draft probably won't matter too much. I'd guess they would be very keen on ruckman Kreuzer - we'd be keener to take the best midfielder. Essendon would be more of a worry, they are probably shopping in the same store as us.

?? We would not be keen on the best young ruckman in the country? Ahem :rolleyes:
 
We will probably throw the 2 Essendon games.. surprised if we win those.. that will take the bummers to 5 wins.. we will at least get pick 2 in the draft.. Either Kruezer or Cotchin.. I'd rather Cotchin by the sounds of him. Seems like a good midfielder. We need more of those.

weve been ridiculed from pillar to post about us selecting fiora ahead of pav, tambling ahead of buddy and so on and so forth!! lets look for a KP player, and kruezer looks like an awesome ruckman. cant believe you guys would take a midfielder ahead of a ruckman.
 
A really good ruckman makes the midfield better.

Pick up Kruezer get Meesan with the no.1 pick in the PSD and we will be set for ruckman. They also take a lot longer to develop than midfielders so better getting them now.

i would rather kruezer i think we need the ruck depth. lets hope one of them has a crappy championships so they slip to our priority selection, lol, not gonna happen.

Because Miller will offer him a typical fantastic deal added with the spin that we will be a successful club in 2 -3 years.

I think it is a bit rich comparing Meesan to Judd. Has Meesan even played a senior game yet? Is he any good?
 
this is coming from a mate of mine whos friends are mates with Cotchin. Cotchin did i believe his AIS week at a afl club with richmond last year and he said that come draft time they wouldent take him if they had the number 1 pick, but if he was still around at say 5 or 6 they. Would make of it what you want, i am just going on what i have been told, not saying its true

Krezuer sounds exactly what we need at the moment if we could get both well that would be a dream come true but its not going to happen
 
I would certainly have Kreuzer and Morton infront of Cotchin. Bellchambers is the ruckman Im hoping we get, but I cant see him dropping outside the top 10and that means we have to do a trade.
 
There is obviously nothing worse than finishing last (and there is a lot of footy to be played yet), but as it goes a prize is to be won from finishing 16th and that is obviously the prized number 1 selection.

However (and I don't know if you guys have discussed this)...If Carlton or Essendon finish on or below 20 points for the season they will automatically benefit from the priority pick rules which would see them move up the order.

For example if Richmond finished last, say with 3 wins, and Carlton finished 2nd last with 4 wins the Draft order would go this way.

1. Priority - Carlton
2. Richmond
3. Carlton

Now that would totally suck to go through a season starved of victory and finish last, to have the only prize you gain out of it snatched away by a side who has already had a fair run at the draft over the last 2-3 years.

This rule in my opinion is ridiculous as no matter what the cause the team that finishes 16th should get first crack.

It should maybe look like this.

1. Richmond
2. Priority - Carlton
3. Carlton

Luckily for Richmonds sake if they don't improve, you would think Carlton could take away 5 games this year.

The way I understand it when they changed the priority pick system (taking into account the previous two years) they also put those picks after the first round and before the second.

That way if we finished on 3 wins and carlton on 4 the draft would go:

1....Richmond
2....Carlton

3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16

17...Carlton (priority)
18...Richmond
19...Carlton
etc

I could be wrong but thats what I understood
 
I have had a recent discussion with a few people in regards to clubs drafting smalls or talls. The conclusion i was able to draw out of it and i firmly believe is that a 'good big man will always beat a good small man.'

Now im not coming here to troll, but dont you tiger supporters feel its the right time to begin topping up your spine for the future. I mean if someone of the calibre of kruezer- rated as the best tall in the draft and a certain top3 selection- wouldnt he be the ideal choice??? I mean midfielders are a dime a dozen and there are plenty of them, but its KPP that win you games and premierships. Everyone seems to think a gun midfielder solves their troubles which may be true to some extent but a gun KPP is priceless.

For evidence look at what hawthorn are doing- again not trolling but they are buliding their spine with players such as buddy, thorp, dowler, roughead etc.

From an outside perspective i think you blokes need to draft tall in this draft as perhaps there is too much 'deadwood' in your talls department atm that needs axing and rebuilding. eg. hall, kinglsey, knobel etc. Similar to what we did by trading or delisting talls like tarrant, cloke, fanning, hall, walker etc and drafting 5 talls including chris bryan PSD out of our 6 picks in ND last yr.

Whether that is true or not doesn't matter because a year in football can mean the making of a superstar or a dud, if Cotchin is the best player pick him, but if not go for Kruezer for our Ruck needs.
