I agree the AFL doesn't want a Tassie team, but I'm of the opinion there shouldn't be anymore teams. 18 is MORE than enough.

I don’t think you understand why the government are paying for PNG, it’s completely different circumstances & context, it’s not a tit for tat, the afl don’t get it too just because the nrl are.

They should relocate GWS to Canberra. GWS have succeeded on field but failed off field. And their ground / stadium is an embarrassment.

It’s really not the relevant factor here. Stadium costs are high everywhere on the planet due to materials.

What is relevant here is the government purposefully underestimated the costs for political reasons rather than being honest. It’s what governments do.

Tasmania 100% needs a new stadium for this club to help make it a success. They’ll be up against it anyway but a good stadium in the city gives them a better chance to create something great.

Allowed GWS get away with Engie, which is a dud.
Allowed Gold Coast to have People First Stadium which cost 144m for only 27 500 crowd.

AFL didn't set those conditions, the Tasmanian Governments bid included those conditions.

You don't get to change your bid later, just because you won the auction.
