This sort of feels to me like many things on Social Media now days - all you hear from is the disgruntled minority that makes enough noise to sound like a majority. When the vote/verdict actually come in though you quickly discover all that noise was for nought and the minority was in fact, well, the minority after all. :drunk:

They absolutely have changed (cheapened) the exterior.

And it will blow out. I’m not even sure they’ve got the workers to physically get it all done.
A preliminary artist impression isn't going to be entirely accurate, particularly for things not yet figured out (like how much air the facade needs to let in for growing grass). Nevertheless those early renderings did show some consideration for such factors, and the small difference to the end product has nothing to do with cost.

If they had done away with the 360-degree internal concourse, then the comparison to Carrara would have some grounding in reality. Instead, the comparison is about as serious as the imaginary $3 billion pricetag.

Yeah they've spent the whole year debating it including gaining political support from the unions but they're still unsure "if they have the workers"

Those against the stadium are very much the majority, but not the majority of those who gove political donations.
Its an utter disaster for a state that already can't afford its own existence. It might be good for football, its terrible for the state.

Not by 2029, when the contract penalties start kicking in, while everyone who knows anything about building stadiums will be in Queensland. Even without that, a lot of the workforce would need to be from interstate.
Just cleaning up the location (which, quite rightly, isn't part of the budget - that needs to be done even if something sensible was done with the site) could take a couple of years before any hole digging can start.

Good chance we see some decent delays I reckon. They're talking start of 2030 which seems ambitious when you factor in everything.

I reckon 2031 or 2032 season more realistic.

I can't remember the actual numbers, but every opinion poll on the subject showed a strong majority against the stadium. Not the idea of a team, just the cost of it in these circumstances.
How many opinion polls have been done?

It's from before the last election, and was a massive push poll with its phrasing "“The AFL is treating Tasmania unfairly in its requirements for granting Tasmania a license to join the national competition”, which inherently gets backwards in terms of the timeline of who asked what of who, and pushes the idea that it is unfair.

Not exactly relevant or useful in the post-election environment (presumably pro-union Labor voter types in the state are now for the stadium, when they weren't before the July election) as well as the fact that you can phrase it certain ways.

And no doubt the rallies etc. made a difference.

The anti's regularly quote the EMRS poll, with the majority of respondents of that being 55+, who's surprised it got a negative majority?

They also did a poll in May which gave the Libs 29% and Labor 31% of primary vote which was nowhere near the election result.

Why didn't all these people against the stadium vote for people against the stadium? We have had two elections, one which was completely unnecessary, and yet here we are.... Let's ****ing go Devils!

Factual basis for this assertion?

Typical Tasmanian naysayers who has SFA practical knowledge of anything useful. They have knowledge of protest and knowledge of delay. They delight in the these powers.

For them, Everything is too hard to do. Everything is not thought out properly (they may be correct here). No one has the skills to design and build.
Yet they are way willing to support an unnecessary election at expense, delaying the construction process, that in turn, adds expense to the project.

Absolute dickheads every last one of them. Wasters.

There has been two elections and pro stadium parties and candidates have won over 70% of the votes in both this shows what’s in majority. Opinion polls are completely worthless
