bit harsh! Yes we are picking up a few injuries but we are still better placed than last year.
Injuries started to build up this time last year. Same thing happening. Players also seem to be tiring a bit earlier as well.

COLLINGWOOD

Jackson Ramsay (shin) 3-4 weeks

ON THE BLOCK: Two weeks ago the Pies looked healthy on the injury front but now there’s a huge hole in the forward line. Travis Cloke will miss up to a month after injuring his calf on Saturday and Jamie Elliott will more than likely miss again this weekend with a back problem. Jarryd Blair was quiet after being subbed on for Cloke in the opening term, managing just 12 disposals and a goal in the loss. Ben Reid didn’t return in the VFL as expected at the weekend and small defender Ben Sinclair also didn’t play against Frankston after making a successful return from a hamstring injury three weeks ago.

ON THE CUSP: In his return to the VFL after two senior games, Darcy Moore booted two goals in Collingwood’s VFL victory over Frankston and is the obvious replacement for Cloke given Corey Gault has missed the last two VFL games and is still under an injury cloud. Patrick Karnezis could also be in the mix after being named among the best with 25 disposals and a goal. Midfielder Sam Dwyer was best afield with 22 disposals and is in the mix, while Jonathan Marsh and Matt Scharenberg continue to impress as they push for a senior debut. The Pies could regain Tyson Goldsack from a knee injury despite not featuring in the VFL.

KATE SALEMME’S FORECAST: Two weeks ago the Pies looked like a certainty for finals but all of a sudden things are shaky after the loss of Cloke and Adelaide’s win, which saw the Pies slide out of the eight. After three impressive performances against the top teams without victory, the Pies didn’t play anywhere near that level against the Eagles at Etihad Stadium and Cloke’s injury added salt into the wounds. The task doesn’t get any easier this week. Nathan Buckley must quickly find a forward solution for Sunday’s clash against the Bulldogs, which is now a must win, do or die affair.

Really hope Freeman isn't another 2-3 away. He was about 1 week away 5 weeks ago

One should never assume Apex36
Good to see the club getting Travis scanned the morning after the game though this week. :thumbsu:

Wouldn't continuing to play a player who has said he is not right put you at some risk with workcover, being sued (not to mention a potential Kyrgios (recent), Tomic (recurring) scenario) so I would have thought Apex36 assumption valid without evidence to contrary.

What are you trying to imply? The doctors put him out on the field despite him saying he couldn't go back on? I find that hard to believe.

No, I was stating that most posters on here assume things and they shouldn't. No whinging at all Pendles!
And Bucksboys that injury list you posted has Abbot out with a knee? Wherever that was copied and pasted from needs to do some research because it wasn't his knee that kept him from playing yesterday!
You would hope we aren't paying some of our admin personnel much given http://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/season/injury-list lists
Brenden Abbott (knee)
"We'll see how things play out for Brenden's shoulder plays out, but he’s much sorer than we thought he would be, so he probably won’t play this weekend either."

(zero marks for anatomy, accuracy, proof reading) Neil should be embarrassed to see his name against this (I doubt he did it himself)

Abbott out for the remainder of the year with a shoulder reconstruction...:(

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU**************K
Cloke Elliott short medium. Pessimist in me says this is code for medium to long term.
Pessimist in me says
Reid-Shut up shop for this year
Freeman-Shut up shop for this year
Ramsay-Shut up shop for this year
One of Cloke or Elliott-Shut up shop for this year
Caff-Shut up shop for the rest of this year
Abbott-Shut up shop for the rest of this year (official)

Lots of the younger guys are going to get an opportunity over the coming months so I guess that is one positive to come out of all of this

So basically Cloke and Elliott are gone for the year. Has Ramsays leg fallen off. Jesus christ feels like his been out for years with that shin problem.
Sounds like they re-attached Ramsay's leg this week, will take several weeks though for the scars to heal before he can start running again.

Cloke and Elliott both short to medium term. WHAT THE **** DOES THAT MEAN IN WEEKS? We have 7 games left, I want to know how many weeks they are likely to miss.

In the NFL the clubs have to accurately determine the length of time a player will miss to the media, and rate the ones that are likely to play based on how likely they are (questionable, probable etc).

Our system is just stupid, don't care if we are copying it from Geelong, last time I checked they hadn't won a flag in 4 years either.

2015 will now be a "development year". :(

Bucks or Eddie (or both?) must have done some very nasty things in a previous life...

On updated list is still listed as a knee. Hopefully whoever has done the reconstruction surgery has operated on the correct body part. If medical personnel are reliant on admin to direct what problems to work on it could explain why Reid, Freeman & Ramsay are taking so long.

Wouldn't surprise me if Cloke was back next weekend.

Right. So looks like a few missing long term. Is it time to pull trigger and get Shaz, Marsh, Moore, Karnezis into the seniors and get a good look at them over next 4-5 weeks?

Elliott looks like he could miss many weeks, a "stress reaction" in the back is f**ked.
Cloke 3-4.
Can't see how Reid, Sinclair, Macaffer, Freeman, Ramsay, Broomhead will play any part in the seniors over next 7 weeks.

Also - times like this that the 2 boys missing suspension wise really hurts our options :(

2 missing in suspension. Adams and who else?

It sounds like both Cloke and Elliott are 2 weeks away at best (all going well) or at least 4 weeks away if they don't come on as expected so............I'll guess and say they're out for at least 4.

I don't think we will see Ramsay again this year and I'm pretty doubtful on Freeman too.

We've very quickly gone from "this next month will tell us where we are as a club" to "this month has ended our season".

May as well put Reid on ice with a vain hope he can contribute in some way next year. Ditto Freeman and Ramsay.
