Ordered my 4.0 on the 31st of July at like 9am, still haven't got a call or anything....

Anyone else still waiting from that order date?

I'm with ya mate, still waiting for a call. Sent them an email and got no reply, called them up and got "we are yet to receive the stock yet". :mad:
 
I have a friend who ordered it maybe on the 2-3rd, and it came into the Post Office yesterday, and picked up today. Vodafone 32GB.

I rang this morning and the dude at the desk asked if I'd received a text or call about a dispatch no. but I haven't heard a thing.

And after reading Whirlpool it looks like theres no method to the handouts as ppl are getting their iphones before customers that signed up earlier.

Optus are doing my head in. I'm gonna run into the store tommorow and ask them face to face hoping they just grab one out of the cupboard cos I know they must be getting 25 calls a day.

i got a message from Optus saying i would receive the phone between 8-5 on the 11th August.

Arranged for someone to be home, phone didn't show up. so i arranged for someone to be home until it arrived - thinking it would be there that week.

heard nothing, rang up Optus on the Friday afternoon and they had no idea what was going on.

Ended up ringing up the sales person direct Monday morning saying it was crap, she told me to ring the delivery group number.

Rang them and they said i received the message by mistake, there is no ETA for when ill receive it. So i spent a few hours on the phone sorting out Optus' mistakes, plus arranged for someone to be at home for 3 days to ensure it was delivered.

absolutely useless!! if I did that at my work id be sacked!

i don't see why a telco doesn't start up and have good customer service, with English speaking people. charge a bit more but i think they'd do well.

id pay a bit extra for some decent mobile phone customer service.
 
When the music is playing with the album/playlist you want, and you're on the screen with the album art (and play/pause, skip etc.) shown, just tap the screen, brings up the progress bar along with repeat, shuffle and genius. Repeat is the two arrows one, tap it until its blue, but doesn't show the 1 (with the 1, it repeats the same song).

Let me guess, you aren't a business customer?


Call centre used to be onshore, based out of a building near William St. GF of 4 years ago worked there.


When they ask you for your phone number when you first ring, you are flagged, business customer goes to the real customer service consultants, non-business goes to the casual uni studnets, backpackers, general lowlives who can't get a better job in the temp call centre.


She always used to tell me don't put your number in and more likely than not you end up in the real call centre lol

nope, i AM a business customer.

the sales person was fantastic, very helpful in regards to sales - based in Sydney.

deliveries team were ok, finally admitted they made a mistake - based in sydney

the support and "customer care" are crap - based offshore.


I rang up on monday and talked to the computer for 5 mins trying to get put through to the right department.
Then i had a query on my account so was transferred to god knows where.

after getting no where i hung up on them, and rang the direct number of the sales person who signed me up and asked what the hell is going on.

I got her to email me the response, i then replied saying it was unacceptable and unprofessional and asked it to be forwared to her Supervisor. i know nothing will happen, but made me feel a bit better :)

i don't really care that the phone is delayed. just pissed off when they say one thing, do another and its my job to find out whats going on.

Ah fair enough mate. You should try being a personal customer. Some of the horror stories I used to hear my missus come home with convinced me never to go near them.

Oh don't blame you at all. Any reasonable person can accept delays happen, particularly in the case of a highly sought after item, but asking you to have someone at the delivery address due to a "mistake" is bullshit

I ordered mine about 3 weeks ago, and got told it'd be about a 2 week wait. Didn't hear back from Optus so I decided to ring them yesterday.

Got the stock standard response "No, sorry we don't know when they will be coming in. Hopefully a week but probably not before then."

Damn it, I want it now!
 
Optus sucks. Voda much better.

Customer service wise, not really. But I pissed and moaned about it and got some free shit out of them in the end, so it made up for it.

after sending the semi nasty email to Optus on Tuesday. i received the phone Friday afternoon. Still a mistake was made by Optus with them not including the people i specified to be able to receive the phone apart from myself, but anyway all done now.

its a pretty massive leap from the 3G to 4, much smoother, plus the screen really is much better!
 
An incredibly n00bish question for you learned gentlemen.

I've had my iphone about a year, and have been updating as I've gone along. In settings, it says my phone is version 4.0.2.

This is obviously not the new much-vaunted iphone 4 is it?
