He states" my idea of loyalty is that while you are employed to a club you give 100 per cent.""

- So having meeting with GC when one is employed by the GFC is ok, as you are 100% focused on GFC
- So your brother is not loyal as he walked whilst still employed and paid by GFC
- So it is ok for a contrary employer to pay for your o/s junket whilst you are employed by GFC
- So it is ok for a contrary club to promote their club with your image whilst you are an employee of GFC
- so it is ok to flog your gear to maximise your profit whilst leading supporters on
- Judas you are full of it

-> PS I would like to know why the club supported the GAblett family once the old man finished his career and was in the gutter. Given he was no longer an employee, so loyalty would not come into the situation.

Re: Is G. Ablett a Traitor

No...he's much worse than that.

He strikes as the type that'd selll his own flesh and blood into slavery in heartbeat if that netted him an extra grand or two in his bank account.

Luckily for him there are no words in the dictionary yet to describe the lowly unashamed money-grabbing pond scum that he is.

Re: Is G. Ablett a Traitor

Now, i enjoy a bit of Ablett bashing as much as the next bitter cat fan, and lord knows ill indulge myself as the year goes on, but this post kinda seems mean lol

Re: Is G. Ablett a Traitor

As well as claiming he wasn't a traitor he also said Gold Coast were a chance for the finals.

The AFL have surely been covering up positive tests.

I don't, I personally congratulate for his time, as he states in his article today, he gave 100% every game he played (Prelim final exhibit A).

Gary has been underpayed for the last 4 years and his paypacket at the Gold Coast is his reward for what he truely deserves. You guys saying yes are bitter sods!!! Im sure 95% of people in Garys position would have done the same thing. As gary said an AFL career is short, and he has tried to make the most of it by 1. Creating a new challenge for himself and 2. securing his finances for long beyond the time his career is done.

So after renewing my membership for the 6th straight year, and taking my seat in the Reg Hickey stand in round 20 i will raise my glass and thank Gaz for the memories.

Cheers Gaz

I am not particularly bitter about Ablett's defection. I am not happy about it but he has made a career decision and so be it. He now wears that revolting jumper and looks all wrong in it IMO....he is now just another opponent in my eyes.

I actually believe we may well be a better side this year than last. The Thompson/Ablett saga must have had an effect on team fabric and Scott's arrival is perfect timing ( and perfect choice by the sound of it ).

Bring on 2011.

Agree. We have little choice but to forget about what Gary Ablett was for Geelong in the preceding 25 years and move forward with the committed bunch we have now. I think the players themselves will be refreshed in the sense there is now no more innuendo to worry about, full focus is able to be on the footy. And full focus on each current player's role in the team.

Perhaps at Gary's career end i will look back and think of the nine great years he had at Geelong and the two flags he is a part of, but right now as David the Cat said, he is simply another opponent now.

Some people need to get the hell over it. I'm fairly spewing that I never got to see Gaz in the hoops at a game, only tv. But hell, life's too short to be a sour bastard. But, on the upside, him being in QLD gives me an opportunity to see an absolute gun in action.

I'm not trolling or anything, but I need to get this off my chest.

He is a sell out, how can he leave a club that has given him so much in the past. Just desert all his fans for the $$$.

Him and Bomber. No loyalty. No class.

So having meetings with Geelong Cats when one is employed by the Global Financial crisis is OK,as you are 100%focused on Global Financial Crises.

Dear _Me_ my head's starting to hurt.

Just go out the door past those eight premiership cups and head north until you come to a picket fence made of wooden spoons and you will be home, thanks for dropping in.

Re: Is G. Ablett a Traitor

build a bridge and go over it, for heavens sake Forest.

is it possible to add some value

I simply replied to an article that the Judas had published today. It seems the Judas might need to build a bridge as well. But i do apologise for having an opinion.

i will keep it simple

what judas believes is that it is ok to approach an opposition employer and negotiate 12 months out whilst being employed by another

is that ok for you

well done

You may have appreciated Judas was not complaining when he was paid overs when he signed the contract, and GFC were going to look after him regardless.

Raise your glass, and maybe reimburse the poor sods that purchased his gear thinking he was staying.

We all know me as issues.

But as far as the article goes this sticks out.

"Walking around Geelong, it's one of those places that obviously love their footy and when you walk around the city you're always kind of looking out for people who are watching you," Ablett says.

"When I first got up here I started doing the same thing. Then I found I would have people look me in the eye as they walked past, but they would just look and keep walking. They didn't know who I was and I'm like, 'You beauty'. I'm enjoying that side of it, no doubt'."

I don't think any of us have a clue what that would be like. Most AFL players wouldn't even know what it's like.

And it's why I think he'll stand up as the leader at the club. He'll have pressure for sure, but it will be a completely different form.

ha ha ha.
I don't like opposition supporter bashing when they come in here but that was funny. :thumbsu:

Of course it's ok (on this occasion) because that's what the AFL setup.
There were 6 other people that did it you know.

You need direct your anger elsewhere.

My first post (I hope I'm doing this right). I'm more upset that everytime we see him play now, he will have number 9 on his back. That's James Kelly's number! Get your own number.

Really? Gee I thought he would have stuck with 29
