Just a couple things. Bad luck for today but you have to admit that the better team did win :D

Anyway what i would like to know is if the rumor i have heard is true that Stiffy is out of contract and possably heading to port. I hope this is true cause he is one of my favourite players even though he does play for u guys. All info on this rumor is appreciated.

Cheers

Scott

This rumour's already been done a thousand times - didn't he recently sign a 2 or 3-year extension?
It's still a bit of a worry.
He did sign a heads of agreement, not a contract.
I would be very surprised if it actually happened.

I hear McLeod's on his way there too.

It might even be a 3-wayer with Richmond sending us Ottens.

Today's Sunday Mail stated that Ottens has announced he will be staying on with Richmond.

Algouth I was pretty p1ssed when it was being talked about, I am almost certain that it was only an agreement to have an agreement.

Oh, okay then. But what if Wallace said (this is highly unlikely, I know), you either let us trade you or we'll delist you, what's he going to do then? Go in the pre-season draft and he could go anywhere.

Ottens would say `Thanks for the money, suckers' and Hawthorn would say `Thanks for the forward/ruckman, suckers'.

What about Trent Croad?
Dunno the details but somewhere along the line he must have agreed.
most people can be motivated (forced, feel compelled etc) to do what you want them to as long as you dont care what they think of you or your orginisation.

these clubs have ways of convincing players to agree to being traded

Why would Richmond push a marquee player out the door who actually wants to stay?

I know thats why we were talking about it ( Drinking with someone very close to the club).
I dont trust any media at all.

Johncock as signed a 2 year contract so under the CBA he cannot be traded until he serves a first year of his new contract (ie at the end of next year)

I'm getting dizzy !!

Stiffy - any chance of posting contract details again - lengths etc - might help people make more infomed predictions

I don't know the lengths of many of the contracts. I know that Perrie signed a 2 year deal last year as did Burton and they have next year left. Bassett and Roo also signed 3 year deals last year as did Goody and Mcleod. Hart signed a 2 year deal.

All those deals were signed last year but kicked in this year ie Perrie, Burton and Hart are already half way through their contracts.

If a player has signed a new deal this year that starts off in 2005 (ala Johncock) he can't be traded until he serves first year of the new contract. I think its call a Heffernan rule?????
