Jed Walter isn’t just another key forward — he’s a game-changer.

Drafted by the Gold Coast Suns with pick No. 3 in 2023, Walter came into the AFL with a rare mix of size, power, speed, and relentless pressure. He led the Allies to a historic U18 Championship, kicked goals for fun, and turned heads with his aggressive style.

Despite an early injury in 2024, he made his AFL debut straight into the seniors — no VFL warm-up needed. What followed was a rapid evolution: by 2025, he sharpened his footy IQ, refined his positioning, and became smarter with his leads.

Coaches and analysts alike saw it coming. By 2026, Jed Walter will be the complete package — a dominant key forward with elite work rate, physical presence, and the smarts to match. He’s built for the modern game, and the AFL is about to be his.

Have you been huffing Jay Clark's "Gold Coast will trade Walter for Curnow" helium again?

Gotta say that hairline has an impermanent look, he'll be one of us chrome domes before too long.

I agree, he is the second coming of Ablett, Carey, Franklin, Coventry, Matthews combined. I think its only fair trade that Carlton can make for Walters is Currnow, Cripps and the next 10 years worth first round draft picks

Hopium post from the missile :$
Cal Twomey has just reported that Walter has been offered a long-term contract to extend his stay at the Suns beyond next year. So you'd think it's pretty unlikely that he'd be involved in a trade for Curnow. The one guy that might be involved in a trade would be Flanders. Curnow for Flanders with some picks involved is probably a realistic trade option for the Blues if Curnow is keen on a move to the glitter strip. We're also reportedly close to convincing Jamie Elliott to join us as an unrestricted free agent so we may not be as keen on Curnow as we may have been in other years. Although, if Curnow is willing to take a pay cut to join us (as has been reported) then I'm sure we can find a way to fit him in. I highly doubt it will be at the expense of our future, though.

A two-time Coleman Medallist for a depth midfielder?

Even if "some picks" was all three of your first-round picks we would still pass.

And that's why Curnow will never be traded.

29 year old. Multiple knee injuries and best likely behind him.

No club will pay the ransom the Blues would ask for. Because he isn't worth a kings ransom.
