I remember an interview last week with JR and 5AA, they asked JR why Jericho isnt given a go of late.
JR pretty much said we arent happy with his tackling/aggresivess.
The way JR spoke it was as if that was it, no more chances, his finished.

Anyone heard anymore news on Jericho?

he had his opportunites and he didn't take them. i think it's pretty clear that it is over for him. only question now is, would any team want him? he could nominate for pre-season draft.

I doubt anyother club would want him.
He is such a frustrating player. He has so much talent, but so soft.

BTW is he the one that dobbed in Welsh and Huddo last season regarding their late night drinking sessions?

I heard that interview with JR - he sounded anything but a Jericho fan.

Jericho's had 6 years to work on these deficiencies in his game - and in his case they are big deficiencies.

He'll be delisted at year end. No team will trade for him IMO when he'll be available for free in the draft or PSD.

I wouldn't trade for him, but if he was available in the PSD or at our last pick in the draft I would look at taking him. I think everyone knows he has talent, unfortunately he just hasn't been able to string games together.

I would liken him to Paul Medhurst, when he was at Fremantle. Medhurst always had talent and showed that he could perform well, but he never really performed to his true potential. One of his major problems when he was with us, was that he seemed slightly lazy and didn't chase or tackle. I would say that's fairly accurate when talking about Jericho, except Jericho never had any faith shown in him. Medhurst wouldn't be dropped after one bad game, or after kicking 3 or 4 goals and somebody else returned from injury. I think like Medhurst, Jericho needs to be traded or delisted so he can get the kick he needs to live up to his true potential.

Anyway, I would give him a shot but the coaches at Fremantle aren't looking for experienced players this year. However, I can also see a team like Melbourne, Carlton or even Port taking a chance on him.

Medhurst shits all over Jericho. I'd have Medhurst in my team that's for sure. He'd almost be close to pushing for AA this year even.

As much as Ive been a champion for Jericho, I think the sad reality is his time is up with our Club. Whether he gets another opportunity elsewhere is debatable. I still think he has some real talent there and it's such a shame that we weren't able to get the best out of him.... or maybe we did? It surprised me last week when the reason for him being out of the team was listed as hamstring soreness rather than omission. Will be interesting to see if he gets a run should his "hamstring" suddenly improve.

My goodness, if he is delisted/traded.... who am I going to champion then? ;)

He dobbed in Hudson and Vince IIRC.

I posted this last year, but it was deleted.

It was stated on radio a few days ago, that the player who dobbed these 2 players is a crow who is always in and out of the team and dobbed them in because he was right on the brink of selection.
Apparently is not liked at all within the squad and thats probably why hardly none of our players go to congratulate him when he kicks a goal.

So Jezza effectively ended Pfeiffer's time at the AFC.

Deep breath Drummond...

OK, people make way too big a deal of his 'talent'. Sure he's got some, but people give his talent way too much credit. If he was so talented he would dominate in the SANFL and he certainly doesn't do that.

really, never noticed that people didn't congratulate him after goals...well, if he's so hated at the club, it'd be better off without him. can't believe he dobbed them in to increase chances of selection...and if he was tired of not being selected, why didn't he leave the club earlier.

honestly, Freo don't need Jericho...Freo should just build on their draft picks and from their high picks this year; they already have too many secondhand players.
...lol, at the Medhurst comparison. even when Medhurst was at Freo, i thought he was a pretty good player (although, you're right about not working hard enough)...Jericho never really worked hard enough at all. the game this year when he did kick a bag of goals...some were just lucky goal square right time right place shots...and if he gets selected despite not working hard consistently, i don't see why Walker isn't selected because of his consistency (though real reason is probably don't want to rush him into afl).
...i can't imagine Port wasting a pick on him either.:D

Oh FFS now we bring out some heresay to stick the boots in?? I suppose you believe everything you hear on the radio/read in the paper.

Players DO congratulate him when he kicks goals. What an absolute crock of horseshit. If he was that hated at the club he would already have been dropped. No point in keeping a player on the list that nobody would want to play with. Ive personally spoken to at least four of our players about him (both senior and junior) and they all spoke about him in generally glowing terms.

Would you expect otherwise?

this is a whole crock of shit - go back and look at the tapes when he kicked his goals - everyone was there.

I've been told these rumours aswell, I also used to hang around a guy who was associated with the Crows and was privvy to this kind of crap (never told me anything interesting Even when I pressured him (the bastard :D ) but this was one thing he said was horse shit. Jericho didn’t dob them in, they dobbed themselves in when it became apparent people knew.

I have been a Jericho fanboy. But his last two performances have lacked any effort. he has let himself down. Particularly in the Showdown. I realise the delivery was not perfect, but at least make it look like your making an effort. He made Ports defenders look good. At the other end Motlop and Ebert were making the effort and reaping the rewards.

Delist him.
