Heeney is good but nothing distinguishes him from many other very good midfielders imo, he doesn't have the ceiling Cripps has who is a powerhouse imo.

Sorry???

Heeney is probably has one of the most unique gamestyles in the afl. High flyer, strong mark, great balance and generates a lot of second chances and has shown he is a serious threat up forward.

I like cripps and i think he will be a top 5 mid ar some time but there is a lot of players that play his game. Kennedy, selwood, parker, viney and wines off of the tip of my head

Cripps but Heeney is going to be a very very good player, Currently playing forward because he's an excellent reader of the ball and best suits sydneys needs. Honestly he looks like he's a KPP sometimes

Once Mcveigh moves on Heeney will go into the middle and show his class, he's going to be a great player and probably collect an AA jumper or two

Cripps is a 21 year old whos already gathered a B+F (admittedly for a club which had maybe 9 players turn up every week) in practically his first season. and shows maturity far beyond his ability. He's a leader on the field and a contested posession machine, Heeney is going to be fantastic, But Cripps is something else.

Cripps is the type of player who can will his club into non-shitness. 17 clubs would give their left nut for either, but IMO would be more desperate for Cripps

Heeney looks as good as advertised, but I have not been impressed by a young player like Cripps since the super draft in 2001. A clearance monster with fantastic footskills and prescient handballing, on top of that the athletic profile he has ... as someone that's watched some very good young players come through some great periods and some bad periods, it's a lot easier to slot in while a team is on top. Heeney looks the goods, Cripps looks better.

I Haven't missed a Carlton game this year as I am also a follower of them and I need to correct you. almost everything you have said about Cripps is accurate if not still an understatement. His kicking however is not fantastic. He's let himself down in front of goals and he's not always pin pointing targets or kicking to advantage as well as others. None of this is to say he is poor by any stretch but this is probably the part of his game that has the most room for improvement. the rest is pretty awesome :straining:

Yeah his kicking is certainly not elite. I'd say it has improved though. He's kicked some rippers to advantage and I never thought I'd see him kick a goal in general play off two steps from just outside 50 based on the last couple years.

Always room for improvement of course and he works as hard as anyone to improve aspects of his game.

Cripps is currently the better player but with the seeming shift away from monster midfielders to runners in the first part of this season, Heeney may be a better bet for the future.

Both guns and both clubs would be happy to have them though.

Cripps and only because his size makes him a very versatile player.

Heeney I think will end up being the better midfielder. However he may end up being limited when moving forward or back when required.

Cripps tends to stand out more in a lesser side, but has done well thrown in hte deep end where Heney has been lurking in hte dorward line, so it's difficult to comapore

I'm sure it would be too much of a shock to the system to watch a quality game like Swans vs Crows after being put through Carltons game each week

I know it means nothing to this or any other Poll Board thread, but there is no player in the league I would take before Cripps. I know, I am bias, I watch more Carlton games than non Carlton games, but that's how I see it.

Heeney just needs to develop more consistancy to his game. His games v eagles and crows was a step in the right direction. Seems to be starting to feel like he belongs in the league and teammates are actively lookinh for him

Heeney, bont, cripps, the league has some serious talent taking centre stage in the next few years
He did some ridiculous things against us
