Yes, thats true. He'd prob get 2-3 years on modest money. Just whether he'll back himself to have a long term future here. Its the best environment for him to grow as a person and footballer.

He won’t be getting 3 years from Collingwood, it’s 2 years max. They’ve gone out and replaced him in consecutive trade windows, he’s been an issue off field, and there’s concerns about his work ethic/fitness.

He’ll either move this year for something or next year for nothing. Pies aren’t a silly club.

Its a big risk. He could still have a huge pre season and be the 4th small forward and not even be sub.

The Pies are saying "we love you" while every year looking for his replacement.

That’s a bit of an embellishment. He played 23 games last year. The only reason he wasn’t best 22 all year this year was because of fitness and some behavioural issues. And Schultz replaces Adams as a small pressure forward. There’s still room for Jack in the 23 if he applies himself.

He’s behind Schultz, McCreery, Elliot, and Hill. With two talls always in the pies forward set up and a resting mid. Bad move by Ginnivan and Collingwood to keep him as he loses all value in 12 months unless he kicks 40 goals as the 5th small forward.

Adams was replaced by Mitchell. He barely got a touch as a forward, and was still primarily a midfielder.

He is only 20yo, he isn't costing us much and Elliot wouldn't have long left.

No reason to be pushing Jack out I would of thought.

Elliott has 1-2 years left at most. Ginni is only 20. There’s a spot for him long term, even if not short term. It’s cool that you have a hard on for him and think you might be able to get him cheap, but it’s unlikely it will happen.

I agree there’s no reason to push him out, but from his position it would be silly to stay.

He’s most likely going to spend the majority of the year playing VFL in the final year of his contract, which completely destroys his next contract.

Can't see him being in Collingwood's 22 next year especially if the Pies get Schultz which looks likely.
he may need to embrace the sub role next season because that's the only way I see him getting a game.

Putting him in the 22 on GF Day almost backfired.
If he stays, I think we will be here again next year.

"Stay in the VFL earning low money for 2 or 3 more years and you may get Elliott's spot - unless we also replace him like we replaced you with Schultz".

Seems like the club are using him as a safety, while pretending they actually want him playing each week.

Seems to me that you’re not really on top of anything outside of Hawthorn matters.

There is no interest in him according to Pete Ryan from the age, and he wants to stay. He's very happy at the pies

He needs to have a big pre-season, build his fitness and tank, he wants to be a more rounded player and add some mid in his game. Has a good pre-season, they'll find a way to play him. Plus there will always be opportunities.

Its just now on him to grow as a person and a footballer to make it impossible not to pick him. There will be positional changes.

He's backing himself in to win his spot. And thats the kind of attitude you want from a kid.

Would be Melbourne's best forward.
:$
he's literally a vfl player. since the anti ducking rules came in he's been completely irrelevant.

by the way, he's better than Fritsch? 😆 🤣

He's also behind Van Rooyen, Melksham, Joel Smith, Spargo and Neale-Bullen. Joel Smith and Spargo actually performed in a final. What did Ginnivan do? 😳 worst in ground in a granny...

They're good on expected score.

Well done and a fair point Ginnivan would be Melbourne's second best forward. If Fritsch is fit.

He's one of the 'Melbourne 4' who got mindbroken from the pies 2023 flag.
:tearsofjoy:
I remember at the peak of ginnivans ducking pies fans were rolling out the 'he's living rent freezing your head' line. fast forward 1 year and he's become the fringe afl/vfl player that I always knew he was. he's probably got only a fee more years in the system

So how many games does he start next year if at Collingwood? How many as sub? And how many in the VFL?

What do you think the forwardline will be?

Educate me please.
Who can predict the future including injuries, but jack is definitely a top 30 player (and possibly higher) at our club even if Schultz comes. You need more than a top 22 over a season.

My prediction is ginnivan plays at least 20 games, including as sub

It may sound strange but in a round about way shultz will be replacing adams.

Nah, he's only 20. Has plenty left to show.
honestly, what's he got in his game that is afl standard? not fast. skills are ok, not spectacular and after his granny we can't call him a big game player. And the staging for frees is still a disappointing feature of his game that craig McRae chose not to stamp out of his game.

A future 3 was a little facetious but I don't think Ginnivan would attract a top 35 draft pick

You wouldn’t happen to know the lotto numbers by any chance?

By the way I think he will prove you wrong over his career.
