Yes he does some things wrong but he is underated and reminds me alot of weightman who always rips us a new one.

I wouldnt mind him at north in 2024. Kayne Turner who has photos of the coach and board still floating around like a 7 day old bowl of pasta you made when there was no food in the house.

Geez… he is a culture killer. Wouldn’t want him near my club.

Seemed pretty big in 2021. Cool. you beat us by 7 points...despite us having injuries and missing goals we'd usually kick. Smashed your midfield and our smashed your forwards. In tennis terms, we lost on our racquet.
You never threatened to take the lead, yes you kicked points but if you had kicked goals, we would have attacked like we did with Brisbane. In the end it was a comfortable win, similar to many of our wins in 2023. It was never on your racquet.

You cant be playing 20 games unless you are top 25, not to 30. Even then, what is your forwardline?

Even if he starts on the bench you probably have Hill starting there with Cox and McCreery and we havent even got to the midfielders and defenders who start on the bench.

Maybe the easier way would be to show your 23 players. Because I just dont see how he makes it, given he really is the 24th or 25th player at best.
You can't see how he makes it??

1. He ended up best 23 THIS year.

2. He is still a kid learning the craft. There's a thing called natural improvement for youngsters like Jack. He should be a better player next year after another preseason under his belt.

3. Hill AND MCreery do not start on the bench. One maybe. Not both.

4. There's no reason why Ginnivan, Hill and MCreery won't play some midfield minutes as well. Hoskin Elliot and Lipinski are no certainties. I mean we just literally dropped Lipinski to sub and promoted Ginnivan to the 22 for the grand final. Did you not notice?

Not sure how nobody noticed throughout his early career and juniors. As a bayside reserves coach once said to me "...can't do anything if a player is scared, if you're scared you're scared."
Being scared is fixable. I was terrified playing rugby as a 12 year old (didn't help that I was 30kg and my opponents were regularly 70kg+). Eventually I got over it. It is possible youth coaches thought he would too.

It does make you wonder why it wasn't in his draft analysis though.

Let it go. Your team is mentally weak. You lost the following week against Carlton.
4 finals, 4 straight losses.
Your players lack composure in big moments.
You play a game that is so predictable, that other clubs know they can sit back and launch from your turnovers.

Is there a team so dumb and overrated as Melbourne? And now, the club is imploding.

I remember at the peak of ginnivans ducking pies fans were rolling out the 'he's living rent freezing your head' line. fast forward 1 year and he's become the fringe afl/vfl player that I always knew he was. he's probably got only a fee more years in the system
If we are talking living 'rent free', you seem to pop up in plenty of Collingwood threads.
Most of the time you keep crying you had more inside 50s in the final. Like it even really matters. I think you've come to the realisation that the Melbourne FC is fast tracking back to the club we all know it really is. Players wanting out, best player gone off the rails, coach who is very questionable, and past presdent suing the club.

It must have been fun for you while it lasted. Now time for you and Melbourne to reassume the position the rest of the competition expect.

This discussion is based on you getting Schultz. Not on this year.
I know. That would be why I was mentioning Ginnivans to be expected natural improvement, Lippinski and Hoskin Elliot's best 22 vulnerability and future midfield time for Hill and MCreery.
Shultz doesn't alter this at all. Your assumption that he forces Ginnivan out is not a good one.
You said you couldn't see how Ginnivan makes best 22 next year. I've given you how.

Bloody embarrassing stuff. From coach and from player.
Dunno what you're watching Danster... all I'm seeing is a small forward with game sense off the charts and a brilliant football mind. He's just hard done by by the umps because they don't like Collingwood.

You don't kick 40 goals as a 19 year old even if 25 of them were from ducking for frees unless ur the greatest small forward in history.

Jack was in the "best 22" in the last Pies team we put on the park.

He is still only 20, from a Pies persepctive he should be compared to Reef McInnes, Fin Macrae and Beau McReery.

He comfortably has shown more than all of them to date IMHO.

They will all get more opportunities in 2024 to prove themselves.

Yeah he would be the best small forward at the Blues by a stretch.

Based on what?
None of your small forwards has looked close to kicking 40 goals in a season. Ginnivan did it last year as a 19 year old. If not for Hill coming in and what McCreery brings, he probably would have played most games and got up there again.

Player putting his head over the pill is embarrassing stuff? If your boys did that more often you wouldn’t be seeing consecutive straight sets…
😄 you're having me on. has he ever won a single hard ball without flopping like a silly salmon? His career is now close to being over because he has no other way of winning the ball. He went from a '40 goals per season' goal kicker to a vfl calibre player the moment the anti flopping rules came in.

He'll be out of the system in 2 years.

A bloke called Joel Selwood made a career out of it.
Won a few flags.
And the team he played for are not traveling too well without him.
Clubs need players that put there head over the ball.
Not sheep dogs.
Unfortunately for the game the AFL are now scared of these types of players.
With the current head high rules Joel wold have been out of the system in two years.

How many were from ducking frees that year?
19 yr old rookie selection kicks 40 goals. Just a smart, skilled footballer.

Anzac Day game kicked 5 goals and couldn’t buy a free when they were there.

If you think small forwards like Motlop don’t draw head high frees you mustn’t watch much footy.
