It would be good to interchange reiwoldt more otter to create that unpredictably in the saints game again ... Many we could play him a but back and have the other players play a bit forward (suggestions) ?

It would only take once or twice for opposition teams to work out how the forward line operates without him and counter it.

Then it would be good to have him rotate to keep them guessing ... Just a thought .... Why all of a sudden the saints didn't know what to do when jack left ?. If we inter change him it will keep them guessing

Make no mistake, if Jack played in the Saints game we would have won by 6+ goals. The idea that we were better because he went down is nonsense - the Saints were just that poor. It's not like we were less predictable - we were still just bombing it in high and long to the goalsquare most times. They had nobody to stop Jack, he would have been pulling down marks from everywhere, and if he dropped it, there still would have been a Martin or King to pick up the crumbs.

What happened on the weekend will put doubt in opposition defenders minds, they will be aware that we have other avenues to goal and may be a little more vigilant on their direct opponents which will ease the pressure on Jack.

Our boys will have taken confidence from the fact that they can look to other options to Jack when going forward. This dovetails into my first point. The defenders will be a little in 2 minds knowing if they don't cover their own opponent then our midfielders will be looking for them as well as looking for Jack.

Nothing but good came from Jacks forced week off but we definitely need Jack back playing the same forward role straight away. As good as our other forwards were last weekend they will be better with Jack standing with them.

I see where you are coming from, I would have thought it could be more unpredictable by varying what Jack does on the field and presenting other options in front of goal. As in any sport it's always best to have the best players on the ground

I know what you are saying, I have contemplated the same thing myself. However, if Jack had stayed on there is no doubt that coming into the 50 he would have been double and triple teamed every time. We also would have kicked to him every time we were forced to bomb it in long, thus kicking to their greater numbers.

Without Jack, we still pumped it in long but when they hadn't had time to completely flood back we still managed to have even numbers at the contest. If Jack had stayed on this wouldn't have been the case.

Play Jack as we always do.

1) Jack is a defender magnet and a ball magnet. It is not Jack's role to not demand the ball and be kicked to. It is the role of the guy with the ball in his hands to find another avenue if Jack isn't the best option. If Jack has 3 on him, there are two spare tigers on the ground its their job to move into space and the midfielders job to kick it to them.

2) We bomb the ball in long and high, pick one player in the competition who you would want under it: it's Jack Riewoldt.

3) JR doesn't get outmarked, he takes the mark, or he creates a contest which gives other guys scoring chances.

This is so true:thumbsu::thumbsu:

How the hell are they going to work it out, when we probably don't know how it worked.

it's like this, i thought we always played better when Richo wasn't playing. (Well "always" didn't always hold true, but i reckon there is some basis for it)

maybe some rotation through centre half forward, but he stays on and will be our number 1 forward. as stated if he had been on for the whole match against the saints we would have romped it in.

Don't be ridiculous. Jack's a human highlight reel and a reason why we go to watch the tigers. Our best forward by a county mile and you wan't to have him on the bench????

The only goal I can geniuenly think would have been effected by the bomb it to Jack theory is Lids. And I'm not even convinced about that one because cotchin had the ball and delivered to lids and I think he would still have with Jack playing.

All martins goals were from crumbing, same with Jacko. Cotchin a ball up, Grigg from forward pressure, Helbig holding the ball.

Kingy and Vicks are starting to more and more bob up with one or two each anyway and Morton would have had less defensive pressure with Jack out there and would have kicked a couple anyway.

So personally I think if Jack had of played we would have beaten them comfortably.

Good teams use their gun forwards more intelligently, they nearly always have a lesser lightchipping in with 3 or 4 each week bc they'll use him whilst his man is 3rd up against the big fwd.... unfortunately we've never been good at utlising the spare man, hopefully we'll start seeing more of what we saw on friday night with the likes of Martin or Cotchin popping up and kicking a few whilst Jack is there

with jack, we would of won by 4-5 goals. it was great for us to play without him, it gave our other players a chance to kick goals by them selves. we are on the up boys and girls.. tigers are stirring :D

Haha read previous posts I explain my self on page one ...

So I raise the question when we play jack will our players remember others can kick goals or will we suffer from "when in doubt" give it to Richo syndrome?..

I thought we looked much more dangerous with Jack off.

It forced us to be a bit smarter going I50, and while we did bomb the long one in still, it wasn't as bad as usual.

I would be happy to see Jack playing higher up the ground, as a CHF. It stops the old Richo syndrome and still makes him a threat.

This is what worries me. Jack will have a big say in how this game goes.

Jack for 20.
Dusty for 10.
Cotchin for 5.
Vickery for 5.
Deledio for 5.
Hardwick for 4.

I can see the report now. Richmond smash Hawks.
Score?
Richmond:298 (49.4) - Hawthorn:14 (1.8)
:D
