Ok, sign him up to a 3-4 year deal.

I believe he only took a 1 year deal last year, that was a good move by him in retrospect.

Pay rise and lock him away.

Would I like Grundy on the list yeah sure... when we have 6 rucks and 5 are injury prone... but Thurlow will be a very good long term key component

Yep sign him up. Whats he worth , thats a hard one to work out.

I haven't loved the way a foot strikes kangaroo leather in some time. Special.
He is just pure silk by foot.... makes it look so easy as well.

Would have been his choice to take the 1 year and back himself to get in the senior side.

Club would want to sign him long term now, and he seems happy here so it should get done

Putting my hand up to say I had reservations about Thurlow last year.

Not any more….he exudes class now…cool under pressure, and wonderful foot skills. Sign him up Cats….like to see a lot more of him in the hoops.

Is this comment legit?
I think it is, and it is more interesting for how well Thurlow is playing. At the time the more pressing need was our aging backline. The rucks we thought we had. As was said though if we had Grundy we wouldn't have Stanley and maybe, we'd have H Goddard which would be a head start on our other pressing need, a big defender.

Only issue is you can't play the game of who we should have gotten in the draft too much. It gets not fun fast when you see some of the guns floating around. Could have used Rockliff last couple of years.

Thurlow looks like he'll make it. That is a win for any draft pick. He looks like he'll become very good. A massive win.

Which position is our next most urgent? Extracting mid? Ruck? Full back? Don't know. Fascinated to see this coming years trade and draft period.

I feel that wells does strong work with picks in the 20 and not as strong with early picks. I like Thurlow but would take grundy first every day of the week

Who is a better kick than him at our club?
Duncan is absolute class as well, My boy Gregson is a superb kick... I'd still have Jacko out in front though, reckon he has a few more tricks up his sleeve

Dare I say it, he has the kicking ability of some Hawks players.
Priority to sign him up long term.
Sheer class, and speed- did some really impressive chase downs last night that left my Bomber mate gasping.
Definitely the brightest light of this season. So far.

Deserving his own thread, I really loved the look of Lang last pm. Poised, quick, great disposal, nearly as good as Thurlow as an overall package. Near BOG imho.
Bews also seems to be revelling in it, looking very reminiscent of his dad
And Gregson. Continues to impress.

I we can keep that quartet long term, the excitement and potential continues.

He' been outstanding and off an interrupted pre-season, even last week against the Eagles he was solid despite the kick in statistics, he's taller and quicker than he looks, he's an elite kick and getting better each game with his decision making.

Going great and I think there's still more to come from him.

He looks like he belongs and believes it himself. And he was the only player that seemed to be on in the first quarter. You could breathe a sigh of relief whenever he kicked the ball.

I wonder if Jacko will move further up the ground eventually onto the wing? Pretty quick, good in the air and elite kick.

Hawk, Clark and Kersten would probably really appreciate some more delivery like what he served up to SJ last night. Especially Kersten, delivery like that is exactly what would play to his strength on the lead.

Did Thurlow take any kick outs last night? I remember him taking a lot over previous weeks but it seemed to be mainly Enright and Mackie last night, and I though we seemed to struggle with the kick outs at different stages of the match - be curious to see what the reasoning behind not using Thurlowlast night was.

Clark seems to agree with you

I thought i saw Thurlow kick in on a number of occasions. Another part of the "plan" i think is to get the ball to Thurlow with the first kick to the pocket. He then has the green light to hit up in the corridoor compared with others who usually have to go down the wing. Just something that had me thinking as I sat in the "Gods" last night

Whats he worth Pure... I find it difficult to put a number on it? What would he be on now? Whats the average pay for an AFL player I guess , and what the other guys with less than 100 games to their name getting. 900 over 3 years?

I might be looking at it wron..maybe the 1 year contract was less on dollars , maybe it was being convinced that he was in their plans to be a regular. That should be on concern that has been subverted now. Bews and Thurlow Best 22 now and for several years to come.

Designated KIP thats for sure , I'd like it better if he had an extra 10 to 15 on his kicks but he is the best choice atm.

I like it as it is. Not so long a go , a Ken Hinkley HBF type was unusual...now playing their can release you because the forward tends to look for his own possessions. What we need to do is to keep adding more players with his type of surgical passing. He is going to be a weapon before long.
