Lol Trengove is a RFA, and wasn't playing in Port's best 22.
Lever is a 3rd year player who was in our best 10 and has obvious value which we want to maximise in a trade.

At the end of the day they're two blokes who are getting offered more coin and security to be closer to their family.
Don't mind the Crows playing hardball and aiming for the best compensation, it's in their best interests. I was more referring to the reaction of the fans and even the players who wouldn't hesitate to move if offered the same opportunity. Pretty average IMO.

Michael Talia on the other hand will be great for Saints at Sandringham
He'll be pretty handy for the Dogs, reckon he will play forward and straighten them up a bit.

They aren't comparable at all though.
Trengove has been pushed out, Lever has been a snake.

Trengove and Roughead probably are best suited to the backline, add in Roberts, Adams, Cordy, Young, Collins and they're now very much spoiled for choice.

Rougheads a ruck and Roberts and Collins arent much chop and would be depth. Cordy and Adams can play forward as well as back while Young will only be second year and looks better suited as a loose third man up type.
We needed another KPD. Sounds like a great guy and a decent footballer.

Lever’s played good footy up until the end of his contract (good enough to make the AA squad and help his team make the Grand Final) and then requested a trade at the end of his contract to go back to his home state after his current club lowballed him with their contract renewal offer. What part of that makes him a snake? Is he required to play for Adelaide forever just because they happened to be the club that drafted him?

Roughead definitely isn't a backman, will hold onto the ruck for dear life until Tim English is ready.
Trengove, Cordy and Morris should line up as the key defenders. Beveridge toyed with Adams as a forward last season so I dare say we'll revisit that. Young is a while off and will be given game time intermittently, Collins sucks and I'd expect him to be off the list in 12 months.
I'm ok with that. maybe another club will pick up Monfries or White so we can keep it.
