Yep, happens every trade week. Eventually the regional teams blink and do what they're told after a little bit of huffing and puffing. Same deal this year.

:)
your name should be "cocky" not parrot..........:thumbsd:

Without doubt the most contrary user name I have come across on here.

Ok how do I change my name to 'I Know'. You will be eating your words after next season. I was the one who originally said that Walker was to be traded and got all kind of abuse. Then he comes out and says he wants to be traded to Adelaide. He was told he would NOT be getting much game time next season and it would be in his best interest to ask to leave. Club obviously want someone from Adelaide so thats a good choice for him.
6 FF 22FA in the BACKLINE!!! 4 contestest marks and just gets in the way cause he always has to jump. Plenty more stats where that came from.
Lucky anyone wants him.

Ratten is a liar FACT

The only thing that makes me go easy on this moron are the 2 words directly under my username.

Thats where I was going with it! ;)

I'm off to bed.

What a strange day to cap off a strange couple of days. Juddys Brownlow, the drawn GF, Goddards mark, Thompsons walking out, Hirds backflip and Ablett looked weird in Red.

Anyway, back OT...

Pick 14 or nothing for Jacobs, we wont be bent over and humiliated, we'll send him to the PSD for nothing, the Tigers are in the Box seat, JR's crap, Pav is a done deal, Yarran is homesick, Hughes is crap, sack Ratten, and Goddard (who apparently is a racist) barracked for us as a Kid.

I spend waaaay too much time in here.

Nite all.

Spoke to Brett Ratten at dinner in Canberra tonight and he was quite clear without being at all arrogant - Jacobs for Adelaide's pick 14 or PSD which equals Richmond. Otherwise stay at Carlton where respected & required.

Hahaha. The old "Yeh, I spoke to the coach last night" ploy.

Keep dreaming. :D

Hilarious. You actually think a 17-game, developing ruckman is actually worth pick 14.

Who do you think the guy is? Darren Jolly?

You're going to be in tears come trade time.

WOW. Being condescending is moving to a new level with all these opposition supporters floating around. First they are sucked in by Parrot, then our own trolls come out to play, then a whole hoard of opposition supporters emerge spouting this kind of stuff.

For the record it is not the content which I am referencing more the tone and style of your response, it implies that you are talking down to us, presuming that your point of view is accurate and that you can predict the outcome of the situation.

Based on your ongoing views on this board, it is very evident that you have either not seen much of Jacobs this year or you are a very bad judge of talent, you can keep banging on all you like but a fair & reasonable deal will be worked out for both parties, if not let him go in the PSD, we are not interested in Sellar or draft picks 25+ in a compromised draft, it will have to be pick14 or some of your talls on the table Mckernan, Talia.

It'll be pick 14. Anyway, what on Earth has this got to do with you? Are you anticipating a Port-Crows merge?

:)

$50 says it isn't a straight swap for our first rounder.

If Jacobs says he wants to come home, I seriously doubt Richmond would take him and prevent that; even more, the AFLPA would get involved and kick up a huge stink - it wont happen.

But it's irrelevant, Jacobs wont end up in the PSD. Talk of our Bock pick or our Second Round + Sellar; we aren't exactly bending you over on a desk there - both are reasonable trades, you wouldn't lose him to the PSD when you could get a second rounder (at worst) for him.

Especially if you trade Thornton away, then Sellar actually looks appealing.

If we were talking some outlandish offer like our fourth rounder, then hell yes, take a stand on principle.

The other stuff is posturing, which anybody halfway competent at any kind of negotiation will generally do

“Well, the Gold Coast’s got the first pick [in the pre-season draft], so if we don’t get there, he might be going to the other side of the country,” Ratten said when asked if the Blues were prepared to play hardball with Adelaide on a trade for Jacobs.

Interesting comments from Ratten.

All of you guys have said what a great bloke Jacobs is, and how he'll do his best to insure Carlton get fair value from him - comments like that aren't going to encourage Jacobs to maintain that mindset.

What we get for Jacobs is not up to him so who cares what mindset he has.

He is worth WAY more than your second rounder and adding Seller doesn't even it up, in fact it makes it worse. They are nowhere near worthy of a 22yo proven ruckman like Jacobs! Since when has Seller EVER done anything at AFL level? Plus a second rounder in a compensated draft? WOW how could we pass that up

You guys can stick your Sellar and second rounder up your arse 'coz we won't have any bar of it!

great !!

so if adelaide dont want to get rid of 14 he walks !!
jacobs can put 400k per year on his head & all of richmond, essendon, adelaide, port will take him
because he doesnt cost a draft pick, dont really think carlto want to be paying their 3rd & 4th rucks that sort of cash.

its silly season & alot of bluffing going on,

If it's a choice between playing for Richmond or the Northern Bullants he'd choose playing for the Bullants every time :thumbsu:

thats why he wants a trade !
i cant see how carlton could be so silly as to let jacobs go & keep hampson !

Because Jacobs has good currency in the marketplace and Hampson is rated highly internally with alot of upside...

This is what I think of it.

It's an interesting one. Hampson was great as our second ruck in 2009 but had his year ruined by a persistent hamstring injury this year and really didn't fire a shot. He's got a lot more talent up forward than Jacobs as well.

Jacobs form has been great this year, wins heaps of taps, takes contested marks, gets the ball off the ground but doesn't try and do too much with it. He's in front at the moment but as a pure ruckman he's still behind Kreuzer and Warnock.

I'd keep the athletic ruck/forward in Jacobs and trade the good ruckman to strengthen up the list in other areas.

Jacobs also wants to find opportunity elsewhere as he's possibly fourth in the pecking order. I'm not sure trading Hampson and still being third in line is any more appealing.

Blues to play hardball on Jacobs

ADELAIDE might have to work hard to acquire Carlton ruckman Sam Jacobs despite the Blue’s intention to return to his home state and play for the Crows.

Having developed the 22-year-old from his days as a rookie, the Blues will want the Crows to find them a suitable trade - be that from within their own ranks, by way of a draft pick or by getting other clubs involved.

Blues to play hardball on Jacobs

GC have NO PSD picks.

Is Ratts confused?

yeah i picked up on that as well , surely he doesnt believe that if jacobs is trying to get to the crows via the draft he would enter the nd, he would go straight into the psd with a top $$ sign on his head.

looks like ratts had a boo boo there
