Your list is ageing and you've sacrificed some good draft picks the next couple of years. Your midfield is a major issue and it hasn't been improved much at all the last 2 weeks. Who are your tall midfield bull extractors? Flashy short people are nice but who is going to feed them? Matt Kennedy was the obvious moneyball option for Essendon that would have made a significant impact structurally.

Great haul on paper by the Bombers but time will tell how much it will actually improve the team positively. Stringer could be anything and he could also be finished by 2020 - this generous contract is his last chance. Hopefully his dickhead manager looks after him better now instead of just pocketing easy commission.

No. Watson, Kelly, Stanton and Hocking have retired and Howlett is likely to retire or play mainly in the 2nds, while Myers (28) will have to fight a lot of younger players to keep his spot. Goddard and Baguley (30) have a year left (two maximum) and there are capable, natural replacements waiting in the wings. Aside from Hurley (27) and Hooker (29), who are not that old, the majority of the team and the new recruits are actually pretty young.

Flashy short people lol, salty much - reckon the ones you are thinking about all tower over young Caleb who goes alright for you and feeds himself pretty well. The 'short people' Parish, McGrath, Zerrett and even Tippa are all quite capable of getting their own share of contested ball, while Colyer will really struggle to get a game. In any case, Myers, Heppell, Goddard, Langford, Laverde, Begley, Mutch, Bird, Clarke and now Stringer are all bigger bodies that can either play midfield or are developing nicely to be able play some time in the midfield.
