2000 doesn't count - you were over the salary cap. Come to think of it, so you were in 1993 as well. Have to hand it to the Bombers for 1984 and 1985 - nothing tainted about those fantastic teams.

2000* and 1993* are the only premiership teams confirmed to have cheated the cap in their flag year. Whatever it takes I suppose.

This thread is now redundant surely.
Stringer is traded for 2 second rounders which was the likely outcome especially when the bulldogs baulked at 11 with 26 returned.
Essendon secured stringer, smith and saad for little more than this years first and second- great effort
Bulldogs replaced stringer with schache and improved draft position- good effort
Essendon did not approach an in contract Stringer like the saints did with Tomlinson. Stringer was essentially released by the bulldogs who probably rue over playing their hand. However they have sent a clear message to the rest of their playing group that the professionalism of 2016 must return. Anyone
who lives in the north west have seen the bulldog boys out when they should not be- I think this will stop now.
I hope Stringer returns to his best because being an Essendon supporter has been difficult in the last 5 years and he is an exciting talent. The bulldogs will hope schache realises his potential and they draft a Zac Merrett in the second round.
Lastly I hope Stewart Crameri now gets an opportunity to extend his career at the bulldogs.
