Safe vs gamble? Risk vs reward?

What's your poison?

I see Rendell pulling the trigger on Bartlett at 13.

Mate I prey for the day. Nothing against jmp, but you gotta go for gold. Bartlett for me too...

If you don't take him, WCE will. We've spoken to him this week apparently. I'm not sure that even WC will get a look in at 22 though.

Ok. So we spoke to him... But we also spoke to Dustin Martin... Mate I hope we do it. If we call Bartlett out on draft day I'll be rapt... It's all about x factor I reckon.

Bartlett for me, with more risk comes more reward

apparently his rehab has been sensational and he is a super self motivated lad who is good mates with Danger

Danger and Bartlett in our midfield is mouth-watering stuff

Round 1: Callum Bartlett
Round 2: Jasper McMillan-Pittard
Round 3: Derek Wanganeen
Round 4: small fwd/project ruck or if available...Ah Chee

I will cry if that happens.
And it is actually possible, Jasper will easily last our second round I would think.
Oh man...

Have you been reading my Phantom... However it appears JMP may have increased in value. Only consolation is Sydney do not hold any picks within the 20's and would be forced to take him with Pick 14.

Give me Bartlett, Wanganeen, Carey and Sumner with our picks and I think we are putting the stamp on our future midfield, and also (possibly) injecting the missing ingredients we need for 2010 (with Bartlett who could possibly come in and offer something relatively quickly, at least for a few games, and perhaps Wanganeen as well).

We have enough running defenders, intelligent players, solid ballgetters, team men, key positions...we just need a little extra speed and X-Factor to give us some magic in the midfield and across half forward.

Ok seriously. Bookmark this very page, there is absolutely no way Adelaide will take Bartlett with pick 13. That would just be so stupid. People need to realize, if your ligament gets torn at a young age, it can slow you down quite a bit and that's exactaly what happened to Bartlett, he got a knee reconstruction. He'll be a second rounder at most because even prior to his injuries, he was having trouble with his consistancy and defencive pressure.

If Adelaide need X-Factor, then they're much better off taking a risk with Colyer, as he's never had a Knee Reco, he's unbelievably fast and he plays both as a midfielder and a small forward (Some even have him in the first round).

...cough....Selwood.

After the Crows passed on Trengove, it shows they'll only take a previously injured player if they believe he's over it.

I agree with you on some terms, but not others. I think theres only a slight chance of Adelaide picking Bartlett, and it's deffiently not going to be with our first round. Going back to the 2008, (Jackson) Trengove and Davis were both rated number 2 at one stage but the doctors told Rendell that it was to dangerous to pick such a young player with already serious injuries to his name. Bartletts had a Knee Reco, and is on the sort of same terms as Trengove. Bartlett never had trouble with consistancy... and he is he's having a good recovery aswell which is good news.

Colyer isn't a first rounder, he's mid/late second rounder to be honest. Won't spark Adelaides eye you would think.

A question to Adelaide fans, I think Lucas will still be available at our pick.
So would you choose Lucas or JMP?
Thats been a question i've tried to answer all day.

So you just wasted a whole day Loz. :)

For all we know neither of them might be on Adelaide's radar at all for a first-rounder.

I genuinely have no idea who Adelaide will take as a first rounder - or any round for that matter. I'm definitely not on my own either. :)

However, playing your theoretical game, I'd take Lucas. JMP doesn't flick me on as a first rounder, but I could well be wrong.

We wont take Lucas in my opinion becasue he was one of the names that was mentioned to me that they were looking at 13.

Haha ok so I did over-react, but I'm trying to make a phantom draft to help me get into journalism and both are still available but I will probably pick Lucas.
I totally agree that we have no idea what Rendell picks, but I have faith in him.
