I like Kennedy's size and his ability to just keep winning it and dishing it out and bobbing up kicking important goals.

I like Selwood's single bloody mindedness and ferocity.

In pure football terms, they play the same position but each has attributes different from the other which makes it even for me.

I've been watching the Cats for over 40 years and along with Harley, I think he's been the best captain in that time.

Kennedy has been better the last few years but a lot of weight has been taken off Selwood with the arrival of Dangerfield and his much improved '16 season showed that.

Selwood's leadership gets him over the line for me.

JPK is statistically one of the best inside midfielders ever, if not the best.

Selwood for now. I feel like reputation is getting him over the line.

I have to say those stats posted by scaryness are pretty amazing, though - and on top of that, Kennedy is an absolute beast when it comes finals footy time (Bulldogs and Hawks fans should know this to be true). He's now captain of the Swans, and if he ends up being a great leader, I'd rather Kennedy. Because that sense of 'leadership' is the only thing keeping Selwood on top for me.

Brett Ratten's 1999, those numbers are insane.

Selwood started out a superior player but as both players careers have progressed and closing in on their 30th birthday's, Kennedy is now ahead of Selwood as he has not only been a superior finals performer, he is unstoppable due to his size and strength. Selwood can be tagged out of a game leaving him frustrated.

It is why Dangerfield will become a better player than Selwood.

Since 1999 you mean, which is when those stats started.

.

He already has Bobby.

He already has Bobby.

Selwood's body of work going back to literally his 5th career game has been pretty impressive. He wasn't always blessed with audacious athletic traits but his mindset and will to lift when a game was slipping away is what separated him from a lot of his peers.
I personally don't believe Dangerfield was ever as influential during a course of a game but over the last 3 years, he has leveled him in that regard.

His strength is insane. The power through the hips and upper body is almost the kind of stuff you see from key forwards and it's that power which is elevating his game as he's almost unstoppable.

Most people are open Selwood haters here. Which is fair enough. You'd never get an unbiased result.
Very true. I could see how JPK could be winning this poll. But 73%-23% is totally crazy

I'm using it as an analogy of why democracy doesn't work.

Popular votes produce the will of the populace; the populace is stupid.

Hence, results like this.

The words 'ducking cheat' tend to spring to mind.

Even a cursory glance of free-kick stats, over the past decade, should give you a fair indication about the scale involved.

And no one likes a cheat.

Feelings over logic.

Post truth or truth post....Opinions over 'objective facts'....Emotions over reason....A good bloke over a flog.;)

Will forever remember his now infamous words when we broke their 11 game run in the 2013 PF....'They've pinched it'....Worst sore-loser in AFL history.
