While I admit that there is a case to be made for people having seen Abletts best a week ago, whilst Judds was 2 years ago, to me their abilities are on par AT THEIR BEST.

I think the difference is that Ablett may improve even more, if he starts to rest in the forward line some more and play like his dad.

These are really pointless polls as Judd will never be given credit for what he has done or what he is doing as he now is a Carlton players.

Ablett is in the top 5 in the comp at the moment as is Judd. Unfortunately, the uneducated football fan thinks Judd is now a hack because he is playing a different style of game at Carlton. Judd is still an A+ grade midfielder, like Ablett, but is doing more of the contest winning than at his time at WCE. Over the last few weeks Judd has started to break the lines more consistantly, his goal against Port where he won the initial centre clearance, kept running and broke away from Cornes to kick the goal on the run is a clear sign of this.

Ablett is an absolute gun, and i would love him at Carlton, but i certainly wouldnt get rid of Judd to get him. Judd is a champion and always will be, and maybe its time for people to understand and recognise this, rather than taking cheap pot shots because he plays for Carlton.

This season he is not in the top 5 players in the competition

Ablett, Bartel, B.Harvey, Franklin, and cooney have all been better than Judd this season.

if you're talking about his contested marking, well given he's had 4 shoulder operations i think we can cut him some slack there, and i have seen him take some good contested grabs this season. he is elite in every other aspect of the game. and ablett has taken only 1 more contested mark than him this year anyway (and yes i know he's played 4 less games).

People barely remember what happened last week let alone Judd at his best, but I certainly do and it was clearly as good and IMO better than Ablett's. But with Ablett overtaking Judd as the leagues best player since Judd got injured last season it is understandable that people remember his games more clearly as he is currently playing at that level. Still an incredible player Gary Ablett, but Judd's best was better for mine.

if a point was supposed to be made, it is that the majority think Ablett is a better player AT HIS BEST

and it is quite obvious that that doesn't sit well with carlton supporters
