No doubt judd is a freak , but Carey was more than just a gun player his presence and abilty to dominate a game from the hardest position on the ground would lead me to choose him everytime .

Depends on your team needs

If you needed a match winner in the midfield, you would go with the Juddernaught

If you needed a key position forward you would go with the duck

Overall however, a great key position player is harder to fine then a great midfielder so you would have to go Carey in a general sense

It's really hard to say because they play completely different positions. Until the end of the decade though, I'd have to go with Carey for now.

Empirical proof that this guy's opinion is irrelevant.

Carey, was a star for his whole career, Judd hasn't had a full career of brilliance. come back in 5-10 years and if Judd has played this well all the way through, then the comparison is relevant. But Carey played 8+ years of good footy, Judd has played only played 4.

Carey has no peer in my time watching footy....Hird is the only one that came close for sheer game winning ability, presense, poise and most of all - leadership

Carey easily. Judd can hardly take an overhead mark with his chronic shoulder problems, and there have always been a few question marks over his long-bomb-and-hope erratic delivery into the forward 50. A great player, but not in the same class as Carey.
