Kreuzer - 52,093 owners (haha, noobs)
Hampson - 4,241 owners

hey fellaz,
my boy... HAMPSONITE... is in the team.
looks like only the smart people got him. :D

i am happy to have the $7K in the bank... not much, but Kreuzer will do just as much as Hampson when he is back in... surely noone is relying on a ruck bench at this stage?! Westy is doing a bench/emerg job for me at the momen!

The numbers have all to do with the hype. Hampson will be our number one ruckman and play every game. It was a no brainer IMO, just had to be patient for one week. Will make a fair bit of cash, very happy with my choice. :thumbsu:

I have him, was never gonna get Kruezer, ruckmen take time to develop and Hampson looked more comfortable and mature in the NAB. Give Matty another year.

Have them both and they should be great cash cows. They're the only decent ruckmen at that price and West for the Cats will be dropped next week for Ottens.

The rucks are my intended strength with Hampson and Wood on the pine for me, while Cox and Simmonds take the field. Mind you the rest of my team is crap, so I do need Hampson to start p(l)aying and be the cash cow I need.

Exactly my thoughts, it was all about money, and I went for the cheaper of the two.

I only got the Hamps and happy enough with that.

I couldnt see Kreuzer scoring more than 30 points a game and will be rested quite a bit

I understand your point, but for me (Maybe playing it safe), I prefered to spend that extra 7k and have a player that was going to play most of the season.

Personally, I don't think Kreuzer and West will.

The way I look at it is this.

Hampson will be my backup ruckman all year. Should get a game every game barring injury, and can cover for a few weeks if Cox/Simmonds go down. If on the off chance another cheap ruckman start getting games, he should score enough to be a worthy trade off for another reserve.

Kruzer isnt as reliable, will get less game time and get rested. Probably won't get high enough scores to be a useful cash cow (i.e mid/forwards/backs) far more effective.

Hampson will be 200k after round 5. Going to be a good cash cow :thumbsu:

Kreuzer on the other hand may still be a while off coming back.
I quite deliberately chose Hampson over Kreuzer because I don't want to sell him. Regardless of which you chose, there really isn't much to downgrade to once they've hit their top price, so I want Hampson to assure me that I'll always have back up for my starting ruckman. If I wanted a cash cow, I probably would have chosen Kreuzer instead.

why do people think kreuzer is going to get rested? serious question

First year player, plus ruckmen always take longer to develop than the smaller type players.

Imagine having Sandilands, Cox, Lade and other such players hitting into you while in the ruck. I just think players in the ruck need more time to develop.

Went Kreuzer in DT and Hampson in SC - both times for price reasons.

Is Kreuzer playing for the Bullants this week, or still injured?

I had Hampson for the majority, but I downgraded him to a 83k player for some reason, and then a few dozen trades later, I only had enough money to upgrade to Kreuzer, and even though come lockout I had the money to upgrade, I decided I'd rather keep the 7k.

Same. Had Hampson in from my first team "draft" (not saying he was my first player selected, although he was a "special") but changed him for Kreuzer two days before lockout, while I researched Hampson's injury. Never got back to make the swap. Wish I had, but also think it's a bit premature to be kicking myself too hard... and also a little premature for those with Hampson to be gloating too much :p

I don't really view my Rucks as an area to make money. I like to set and forget (hopefully) for the season!

Hampson's a good pick. Hope the boy goes well. :thumbsu:

Tippaz... Do you have Cox? What's ur ruck line-up? I'm currently looking at Meesen as a bigger mistake I made in my Ruck division/team :o .... But it's early days! :)

EDIT: I didn't pick Kreuzer thinking he would play in the ruck, but thought (and still think) he'll get some time - and points - in the forward line.

Exactly what I did, although looing at DT prices they were pretty close, I should hae gone Hampson. Oh well.

Quoting Brett Ratten, "Carlton will also regain young ruckman Shaun Hampson this week, with Ratten revealing No.1 draft pick Matthew Kruezer will likely be ready to debut in round three with his hip condition improving."

I sense some gloating over hampson being selected ahead of Kruezer... we will see who has the last laugh. Kruezer is a superstar and the number 1 draft pick for a reason. I understand that young players in the ruck take some time to develop but I believe Kruezer is an exception to the rule.
