Kurt Tippett - is he remembered more as a Crow or Swan?

What is Kurt Tippett more remembered as?

That's always been 1 of the dumbest parts about the whole saga

Adelaide didn't actually exceed their TTP, even with the additional payments to Tippett outside the cap

Reality is that he was guaranteed payments from sponsorship/media/marketing outside of the club. The problem was he couldn't be bothered doing most of what he was offered. And he then forced the club to top up his payments.

The club was then stupid enough to top up his payments from its own sponsorship income.

There were a few good articles written about it in The Age around that time.

Was the punishment entirely for the additional payments? Or also for the contract fine print saying we wanted at least a 2nd rounder if he was traded - something that was never going to be enforceable anyway.

Yes .. but

Trigg was supposed to fall on his sword. He refused and threatened to throw the board under the bus. The board folded and took the additional punishments

Punishment was also for agreeing to let him go for a second round draft pick.

It all unravelled when Sydney offered up Jessie White as a trade.

If Buddy didn't come over a season later and overshadow him a tad I would say Swan. His first games there in 2013 he had that star role for a bit (including career high goal average), which even at the Crows he never quite had given the few noted forwards they had during his tenure. But given the suspension he only really had a few months there to himself before the Buddy show came to town.

The Swans also had Mike Pyke then who looked a little similar to Kurt in play, he wasn't the most immediately identifiable Swan on field.

Seeing the thread about Buddy got me thinking about Kurt Tippett aka the other Bondi Billionaire. In your mind do you remember Tippett more as a Crow or as a Swan?
Who?

Big, tall bloke who cleverly schemed money out of a few footy clubs because of his size and rode off into the sunset.

Maybe, maybe not, but his good was very good. Swans would have been a very different proposition if he could have stayed uninjured.

He played some really good footy 75 percent forward and 25 percent ruck at the Crows. What is forgotten about his move to Sydney is that he was told he would be playing full time forward, which he wanted. Was kicking goals at a good rate until Buddy turned up and he had to play ruck/forward again

Of course it’s all forgotten because of the price tag and the salary cap and draft tampering shenanigans.
