LOL! When you win half of our premierships, come talk to me:thumbsu:

Don't you feel just a little silly writing this when your sig clearly indicates nothing in 44 years? A period over which we have won four flags and the vast majority of our posters would have seen at least one? What a hollow argument to go with the hollow feeling you had when you made it.

It must of been the hollow feeling he also had when he said North Melbourne was a greater club then Melbourne. It really isn't, in nearly every single facet.

Next is a massive issue of infractions for those going off topic.

This is the second warning and there is no third.

He is not a small defender he is a FB that is versatile and can play many different positions.

Hanson MIGHT end up being better, although i don't think he will, but Garland has him covered well and truly for now.

Garland plays FB and does a sensational job in the wooden spoon team, what has Hanson done yet?

BTW: leave out the abuse and just discuss the point.

What do you mean, what has he done yet?

You mean besides averaging more kicks, handballs, marks and I50's than Garland?

Please point me to statistical information that shows how Garland is "clearly" ahead of Hansen at this point in time?

Bahahaha. Garland is the best young full back in the competition. It has now been proven time and time again.

Gee I must be missing something 'time and time again' equaling 19 career games?

Garland very well may be one of the better young fullbacks in the competition, its thankful then that Hansen hasn't, nor ever will play that position for the NMFC.

So I really can't see the comparison between a negating defender to a potential tall marking power CHB/CHF.

Haven't seen much of Hansen as he only played 10 games or so. Garland had a great year, Hansen may turn out the better player but Garland has been better to this stage.

agreed

Firstly i don't care enough about the topic at hand to spend my time chasing up stats.

Secondly stats can often be irrelevant and with all the chipping around in the backline these days high stats don't mean a lot.

Garland has been used primarily as a FB, so i'm sure you can understand that stats are not what his coach wants him to achieve.

My observations were based on watching both players and imo Garland is clearly the better player currently.

Garland conceded only 25 goals in 16 games (could only get the stats up to rd 21 so i don't know how he fared in rd 22)

In 300 minutes of playing on Nick Riewoldt, Alan Didak, Robert Murphy, Brett Burton, Hall and Rioli, Garland did not concede a goal.

adding to this, melbourne conceded the most inside 50's of any team (57) this season.
