Club History Lets try to get the curse lifted

I don't know what it means either.

And whether any of us believe or disbelieve in it is irrelevant.

But it's a fact it happened.

If you don't know the significance, why are you so vehement in having people take it seriously? What do you want to see happen from a club point of view, remembering that John Elliott isn't/wasn't the club, and his views didn't represent the club?

I'm only vehement people should treat other people with respect.

Crass joking about something that looks like it has a lot of cultural weight behind it, that most of us, including me, have little understanding of, that was done by respected leaders of that community, seems to me, to lack some empathy.

And it’s certainly not my place to say what the club should do. And I also don't know what it means for the club, in relation to Elliot and the club. Perhaps it has nothing to do with Carlton. Perhaps it does.

But I do hope that one day, in an atmosphere of mutual respect, the club and the Yorta Yorta will come together to talk through any issues together.

Carlton did something with Sir Doug Nicholls' family that looks like a potential starting point to the conversation, so the precedent is there. I don't know about anyone else, but this made me prouder of the club than I had ever been before....

Blues right an old wrong

A significant day in Carlton history takes place as the Blues hold their official Sir Doug Nicholls Acknowledgement.

And Carlton today looks like it has an ongoing, strong relationship with the Yorta Yorta people as evidenced here...

I mean, it looks like the curse had nothing to do with Carlton. We have righted the wrongs of any past issues.

I don't know how I feel about curses really. I don't particularly believe in them, and if I did, I wouldn't believe in their misuse. An ignorant quip by a big boor, probably shouldn't result in a life ending curse. I'm not sure I respect their action.

Curse i doubt it. We've just been an appallingly run club for the past two decades unfortunately.
