Round 1

Pick 1 Melbourne Tom Scully. I think Melbourne will go with the young superstar who has good skills and reads the game well. Could captain the club one day and really just can't see Melbourne taking anyone else at number 1. Dean Bailey and the Staff at the Demons will be stoked and Scully will be one to watch next year.
Other considered: Jack Trengove

Pick 2 Melbourne Jack Trengove. This Kid is a gun. He has all the atrributes to be a great player. Clean hands, good mark, brave, nice kick, very fit and can kick goals. Him and Scully will form a good combo for the Dees. Melbourne have all but locked on these two and it will be interesting come draft day to see if they pop a surpirse.
Others considered: Dustin Martin

Pick 3 Richmond Dustin Martin. Well what a gun this kid good be. Imo is one of the best kicks of the lot and is just about the full package. Will go well in the nest 10 plus years in the midfield alongside Brett Deledio, Trent Cotchin, Daniel Jackson, and Nahtan Foeley. Will hold his own in the Richmond side next year and will play all 22 games.
Others Considered: Gary Rohan, Anthony Morabito.

Pick 4 Fremantle Anthony Morabito. Will complete Freos Midfield with Palmer and Hill. Morabito will be running rings around Subiaco for the next 10 plus years and Fremantle will lvoe him. Could be anything from Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls to Adam Goodes. The later expected from him. Will play quite alot of games next year!
Others Considered: Ben Cunnington, Gary Rohan

Pick 5 North Melbourne Ben Cunnington. A hard nut that Brad Scott will love. You can't ask for much betetr in a weak draft. A tough as nails midfielder with good skills to round out the top 5! It is a midfields draft and this is why!
Others Considered: Gary Rohan

Pick 6 Sydney Kane Lucas. This is the kid that I love. Has pace, skills and can kick goals but he has the passion. Sydney will love this kid and you couldn't of asked for more. He is just what Sydney need. A midfielder with pace and sikly skills who can play on the half forward flank. They have drafted well and this is the draft they need to get right and they will be good for the future. Expect Kane Lucas to play about 16 games next year!
Others Considered: Gary Rohan, John Butcher

Pick 7 West Coast Daniel Tahlia. A Kpp who is a fantastic set shot and will be a solid player for West Coast. More of a safe pick than anything but he fills a need. Will play a few games next year but will go into development mode for his first 2 or 3 years. The Eagles will want to get this one right. Will draft midfielders from now on!
Others considered: Gary Rohan, Lewis Jetta, John Butcher, Brad Sheppard[/COLOR]

Pick 8 Pot Adelaide John Butcher. His year was ruined by injurie but if he has the right attitude and can get over his injurie worries he has the potential to do very well. Will replace Waren Tredrea!
Others Considered: Jake Melksham

Pick 9 Port Adelaide Jake Melksham. A sikly skilled midfielder who is a clearance king. Only light but once he puts muscle on he could be very damaging at AFL level. I like the kid so goodluck to him.
Others Considered: Gary Rohan

Pick 10 Essnedon Gary Rohan. What can you say about this kid other than he will either be a superstar or he will go bust. I think Essendon is brave enough to take the risk and it could pay huge divedends.
Lewis Jetta, Koby Stevens

Pick 11 Melbourne Nathan Vardy. Will take a solid ruckman who will need time to develop but will over time. Once he has and he puts muscle on he could be a very damging player tapping it down to Melbournes impressive young midfield.
Others Considered: Aaron Black

Pick 12 Carlton Aaron Black. Don't know much about this kid so all I will say is Carlton need a KPP so this guy fills a need.
Others Considred: Lewis Jetta

Pick 13 Adelaide Luke Tapscott. SA boy who they will love!

Pick 14 Sydney Swans Jake Carlisle. After drafting a very talented mid will go for the KPP now. They have drafted very well wiith there first 2picks here and willwalk away with a huge smile. This kid will play many games for the red and white. He will play alingside Jesse White up there in the forward line and dominated. Very talented big man who could yet be the best KPP to come out of this draft!

Pick 15 Western Bulldogs Lewis Jetta. The dogs may go for someone like Griffiths here but I just see them going with the pacy mid with good skills. They don't have many of this type other than Josh Hill and Brandon Stack who are struggling. Could play 10+ games next year but it depends on how good the Doggies are going. Very good pick.

Pick 16 Port Adealide Koby Stevens . After going with a KPP and a mid they will now sure up there midfield. Melksham and Stevens would be a great result for the Power and they would be very happy with there draft!

Pick 17 Geelong Allen Christensen. This gun mid in the mould of Daniel Kerr is a very exciting prospect and also one of my favourites. Alongside Joel Selwood the Cats have themselves 2 very talented and courages young men. This is good drafting.

Round 2

Pick 18 Melbourne Luke Ball. Melbourne to snap up the former number 1 draft pick here.

Pick 19 Richmond Benjamin Girffiths. Martin and Griffiths=Richmond all set for the future. Good hands and body ready for AFL next year. Will be a little ripper!

Pick 20 Fremantle Bradley Sheppard. Go safe and take two WA kids with your first two draft picks. With doubt a player to watch. Could be anything.

Pick 21 North Melbourne Ryan Bastanic. Another tough nut ready to go. Look out for Norths midfield now.

Pick 22 West Coast Mitch Duncan. Half Forward flnaker will fit in very nicely at the Eagles.

Pick 23 Troy Taylor. The type of player that West Coast need. Him and Naitanui will excite the crowds of Subiaco big time!

Pick 24 Essendon Nat Fyfe. A super exciting prospect. He has clean hans and good skills. Very good player for the future and one to watch out for!

Pick 25 North Melbourne Jordan Gysberts. Should I or should or should I not select this guy. I have gone with yes because he has alot of potential. What a draft from the Kangas!

Pick 26 Essendon Jack Fitzpatrick. After going with 2 midfielders first, they will be stoked to get a ruckman. The Bombers fans can argue all they want but belive me Gumbleton is a Foward, Ryder is a Backman, Hille will be 28 next year and Laycock is shithouse. Here is your man!

Pick 27 Brisbane Calllum Barlett. A speedy mid that we need. Likened to Luke Power will go very well in the future in our midfield alongside Jack Redden and Daniel Rich!

Pick 28 Geelong Jasper Mcillan-Pittard. A great young prospect and I mean comeon. I had tofind a place for him somewhere.

Pick 29 Adeliade Jamies Craig. The SA ruckman I can really see this happening. Fills a need also.

Pick 30 Collingwood Josh Thomas. Much like Beams last year the Pies will take the talented Queenslander.

Pick 31 Western Bulldogs Jesse Critchon. A player who will be a long term prospect. The Bulldgos are very much about now but sometimes you have to look to the future just like the Lions!

Pick 32 St Kilda Roland A chee. A raw but very talented player with good skill. Look out for this kid in the near future!

Pick 33 Essendon Dylan McNiel. A solid and agressive player. Another midfielder for the Dons who will be lucky to make his debut in 2010 however he is a longer term prsopect. Height may drop him back a few more spaces.

So I hope you enjoyed my 2009 Phantom Draft a bit of fun and a good read I hope. Gee that was tough and it took me alot longer than I thought it would. Sorry I slacked off a bit in the second round with my explantions, it gets very hard. Cheers:thumbsu::):D

Would be very happy with Tapscott.
Bit cruel to have JMP and Bartlett both go the 2 picks before ours though :(
Still don't think we need another undersized ruckman that we will have to somehow convert them into a different position or just live with them being short and hope for the best. We've already got Sellar, Moran and Maric who fit that bill.

Lionshine tend to strongly agree with Turbocat on Callum Bartlett.

I dont think he will last past 20, I know WCE have spoken to him this week, so if he lasts to 22 we will pull the trigger.

As for Troy Taylor I believe we wont be taking him at all, we haven't as a club spoken to him at all.

So who would you suggest for WCE at 23 instead of Taylor ?

Love it man! u couldnt be more right about all those players, especially Laycock HAHAHAHA!:thumbsu:

WRONG! Ryder is not a backman :p. Ryder is a ruck/resting forward and a good one at that.

Other then that dont really have a strong complaint. Prefer not to take a ruck tho here prefer Gawn at 33. If we take Fitzy i think it will be cause of his ability to play forward. I think you have made a very risky potentially high reward picks for the dons

Alright mate. So who would you than have falling too the Lions? Christensen. Cheers. Now this is to all the people that come on here and abuse me for having errors and stuff like that. Not directed to anyone that has posted so far just a warning. If you come on here and abuse me for not having my picks the way you would have them go and make one your self and see how hard it is! Cheers guys and thanks for all the good comments so far. I will take them all in and soak them up:thumbsu::)

I would be surprised if Rohan slipped to our pick, but I would love him there. I also would take Gysberts at 24 if he was available instead of Fyfe. But good draft otherwise

Ryder was at home as a Backman and now with the ruck experience this season he can become the last resort ruckman meaning essendon are set with at least 3 ruckman on the field and if a terrifying match knocks out our 2 lead ruckman then in comes paddy ryder a perfect set up and tatic.:thumbsu:
