Dunno. From memory 178-180 cms , and while he may be getting good stats at vfl level , I should remind you that youngs stats in the game v Norwood today probably blow those out the water , but still not many will call for his selection this week , and even less think yiung is even a remote chance of being selected

Some of those guys that dominate ressies level shouldn't automaticly be assumed to be able to replicate that form at afl level. To trade a pick for Woodward while we drop Moore and young the second they have an average game at afl level would be pointless imo.
He's 181cm. Hawthorn have ridiculous depth. He is much better than Hallahan who Gold Coast traded for last year. We don't have enough midfielders especially if Moore looks for a new club. He would cost very little in terms of trade or contract. He stands up in games under pressure. He would allow us to delist Mitchell and SGray! I think he will make it as an afl player and would be a regular in most teams.

Can suck it!
Was it Jack Steele that Logan Austin wanted to play AFL with one day? We should make that happen.

If our recruiters fall in love with Ah Chee, Burton or Curnow the possibility for taking a say 4 spot downgrade on our first pick is there - similar to Adelaide with Lever last year.

We must keep our first pick no matter what this year.
I agree ...

and atm I hope we use our first pick for:- Rhys Mathieson - VC (185.0 cm, 79.0 kg - Midfielder)

he is someone to help take some of the load from Ollie (so we don't burn him out)

the other options in case he is gone are:-

Harry McKay - VC (200.0 cm, 85.0 kg - Key Forward/Ruck)
Mitchell Hibberd - TAS (191.0 cm, 85.0 kg - Midfielder)
Harley Balic - VM (186.0 cm, 80.0 kg - Midfielder)
Ryan Clarke - VM (186.0 cm, 84.0 kg Midfielder)
Luke Partington - SA (182.0 cm, 75.0 kg - Midfielder)

Mckenzie - meh. Huge kick , don't know. If he came cheap . Haven't seen enough of him. Know we are pretty good for back flankers but I really rate good kicks. Although Trent may be one of those guys who is a long kick rather than being a very good kick like similar to hartlett. Shouldn't be a huge target.

..
if we wanted to go for someone with a long kick then we should push and try and get Tom Fields from carlton ...

maybe a deal of Tom Fields & Cameron Giles for Moore (+ maybe a draft pick) ... (SOS is after ways of improving Carlton's list)

then we could have Tom Fields do the kick in after the other team kicks a point (instead of Pittard) ...

Watched seb tape closely yesterday. Extremely lively early but then just absolutely went out of the game after half time. Admittedly he played mid in the first half then switched to defence; pretty manic attack on the ball and a good tackler. Went out of the game and lost his feet in a crucial contest in the goal square which gifted the doggies a goal. Skills were ok without being absolutely brilliant or dreadful and at the right spots at stoppages only to have the ball cleared by rischitelli ablett or hallahan but didn't work hard enough around the ground to provide link up.

Did Luke Partington line up for Norwood yesterday? If so how did he go?

Just checked draft thread. Not great.
He was pretty good in a really congested game. He looks like a good, composed AFL standard player. I would like something a little more special for our 1st pick though. 2nd pick now worries.

Looked at the Sanfl stats. His possessions were up there but maybe not a great day for a skinny 18 year old. We can watch with interest.

Hmm skinny. What's his frame like though? We've got enough players with frames not built to hold a lot of muscle.
DOB: 05/03/1997
Height: 182cm
Weight: 75kg
Nothing wrong there that's about normal I was being a little facetious He's 18 playing against grown ups Would possibly prefer him over trading for Aish if we knew he would slide to us. People like him.

Midfield target number 1 in that Tape/Woodward role has to be Hewett. Bloke is seriously putting up stupid contested numbers as a second season player. Will be hard to get a look in at the Swans, SA boy, very gettable.

In other NEAFL news Salter is second on the goal scoring table for the competition with 42 after 12 games in a struggling Ainslie squad.

I like it, especially if he comes at a Campbell Heath-esque price.

Not bad for a defender.

Hewlett definitely looks a player but I doubt swans will want to let him go. Yes their midfield is loaded but he's been emergency a couple of times this year. Seems close to getting a game and is a part of their depth

From that list I only have interest in aish , and then only if hinks rates his attitude , not much interest in Toumpas unless he comes dirt cheap, would take tape but only as a 3rd round pick , Motlop but probably not at the money he may want.

Zero interest in Grimley.

We have Ryder old man shultz butcher harvey and shaw , maybe a developing frampton or douggal although they might be years off.

The point is we don't need a might be ok type tall forward. We need a gun key forward.
Cameron is the only gun, or Jeremy Howe.

only gun forwards ? In the afl?

Port would happily take any one of roughhead , buddy , Cameron , Kennedy , Boyd on potential , tom lynch GC , McCarthy , Mccartin on potential , walker , Hawkins.

Of course we cannot get one of these guys.

But adding a guy who is unproven to play as a key forward at the age of 25 to our list of young key forwards isn't the way to solve our issue.
