This beyond a joke now.

I'm sick of hearing how he needs a run of games so we can decide once and for all if he's good enough. He’s 23, has been on the list for 6 years and has played 26 games; the fact of the matter is that he is NOT good enough.

I can’t believe he’s being persisted with. Heck, even Aaron Kite has showed more during the trial matches. All I can say is this better be the last time he’s named in our side. I can’t fathom how a guy who continuously puts in gutless performances when his career is on the line can continue to be rewarded with games. Neil Craig is obviously an advocate to guys who coast on the field and don’t put in 100%. Can you imagine Jericho in an AFL final? Would almost be worth the price of admission.

They kept him on the list and therefore he is being given a go to try and justifcy that decision. I am assmuming Craig is a big fan of his or else he would not still be at the Club.

I don't want him to play eithe but maybe he can do a Matthew Kluzek.

Clearly he ****ing is.

You on the other hand have this belief you know more about the game than the AFC match committee put together.

Stop your god dam whining about one of your Norwood boys being over looked.

Give the kid (turn of phrase) a ****ing break and judge him on what he does Saturday, not what you perceive to be a mistake by the match committee.

Give him a break? He’s been on the list for 6 years, that’s enough of a break.

You bag me yet you’re obviously quite happy to see gutless footballers run around representing our club. It’s a disgrace that he’s still on the list, and even more of a disgrace that he got a call up this week. He’s not good enough, all you had to do was watch the game against Fremantle to realise he wasn’t. Dropped after 1 week, yet here he is again, getting another opportunity. How many does this dud need?

I've heard that from your mouth before Drummond.

the fact of the matter is that he is NOT good enough.

I have more faith in the AFC selection committee than Drummond the biased Norwood fan.

Or what? You're gonna stop following the Crows? You're hanging on by a thread aren't ya?

Last time I checked Jericho was a Norwood player…

I'll never stop following them but with a joke of a coach at the helm it’s sometimes painful stuff.

Clearly that's the case but the question is why?

For the life of me I can't see why Maric isn't in the team.

I think Tippett's taken his spot. They've obviously decided that replacing a runner for a tall would unbalance the team, and they've gone for like players.

I would love to see Jericho do well and hope he does get an opportunity this year, however i think (without the hysteria) Drummond's question is valid. I would have thought that Campbell was a better selection this week, given he is hard at it and in and under. Given we are losing Reilly and Shirls it is hard to see a) why LJ would replace either of these players or their roles or b) what weakness is we are aiming to exploit in the WC team by bringing him in?

IMO Campbell or maric would have been a better selection. That's my 2 cents. :thumbsu:

I'm not stupid Drummond, but this all stems back to Campbell not getting picked. You've also hated Jericho for as long as I can remember.

That's your opinion mate. Craig & co are doing what they think is best for the club, you're just gonna have to accept that.

I agree with Drummond on this one people.

Jericho is a fringe player whom we call upon when we have injuries. He will never cement a proper spot in the 22 for our Boys.

He is also played out of position. He is a wingman, not a half forward.

He doesn't like the contest or the body contact, he likes a free run away from bodies.

Watch previous tapes, you will see what I mean.

Think about this mate. Seeing as though Campbell wasn’t selected this week, there is NO need for him on our list.

Relly: Out
Knights: Out
Shirley: Out

And yet there is still no room for Bryce. On top of this, he was named best a field in the Norwood/Port trial last week. So there are injuries to key midfielders, and he’s in good form, and he can get a game.

His “AFL” form this year is a game against Collingwood where he was average. The next week he was much improved against Fremantle, but then he was dropped. He was recalled to play the NAB Cup GF, where he played 8 minutes. So between the game against the Saints and now, he’s been bumped down the pecking order. But how can that be? He was named an emergency last week, and played well for Norwood. More injuries to midfielders and he still can’t get a game.

I’m not saying he’ll be a gun midfielder at the top level, I’m not saying he’ll be a dud either. All I’m saying is that from where I sit it’s puzzling as to why he was retained.

The Eagles are much taller than the Dogs and last week the theory was we onl went with two rucks because of that.

Surely this week we need three given the history of Cox and Seaby smashing us, not to mention Lynch, Hunter, Staker etc who we have to deal with.

The only player i can remember ever being cut from the crows after one year is Obst...

Its usually a two year contract, so we would have had to pay him out if we cut him.

For the life of me I can't see why Maric isn't in the team.

Yes, I'm really trying to piece it together as well. I'm thinking that maybe they might try and tag Cox with Stevens. We wont know until Saturday, (friday night here, yes we have it live!:thumbsu:) so it should be interesting viewing.

Of course they are. At the same time Drummond is entitled to have a strong opinion of his own.

Going on Jericho's career at AFL level so far, all objective evidence would tend to support his stance.

Match committee's do make mistakes you know:)

Maybe the coaching staff are expecting it to rain on Saturday which would be the only reason I could see them not picking Maric. If it isn't raining or wet then it would be a bad decision to leave him out imo, but if it is raining than I could see Maric being quite useless around the ground.

Excellent point! :thumbsu: We did hear that very point a lot, don't want to be too "top heavy" against a short Bulldogs side they insisted. West Coast always kill us with their height, and you’re telling me there’s not room for 2 specialist ruckmen?

I read somewhere that if you’re above a certain age the initial deal doesn’t have to be 2 years, but I have no idea. Would be good if we got some clarification because I can’t see one reason as to why he’s still on the list with the way he’s being managed.

You could be right. It's not gonna be a huge loss if he is delisted at the end of the year.

And yet there is still no room for Bryce. On top of this, he was named best a field in the Norwood/Port trial last week. So there are injuries to key midfielders, and he’s in good form, and he can get a game.

The thing is I do tend to agree with you, I have nothing against Bryce and would love to see him get some serious game time (just like any other youngster) but it's done, the team has been selected. I have complete faith in the AFC selection comittee and they obviously think Jericho > Campbell, and they're probably right.

So between the game against the Saints and now, he’s been bumped down the pecking order.

Campbell has always been extremely low in the pecking order regardless of whether or not he's been playing in the NAB cup. Surely you of all people know this, which I why I get confused when you keep whinging.
