Mal Michael has just announced that has retired following an illustrious 201 game AFL career.

Seems like a great bloke after listening to all the great stuff he wants to do off the field not to mention the fact that he was one of the best, if not the best, full-back of this decade.

The Lions will sorely miss him next year. :(

Sure will. Has been a rock in defence. Will always be grateful for all that he did for the club:thumbsu:

Agreed. Must have just missed out for about 4 years there.

Absolute gun player and a bitter pill for collingwood to swallow since he left. One of the best full backs ever!!!

All the best Mal.

I loved the way he tested injuries, well done great career
Indeed, my fondest memory of him will be him bumping in to cry-baby Reiwoldt who had hurt his lil shoulder.

Well done on a great football career Mal! All the best for the future.
Robert Walls will miss him dearly also. ("Look at the size of Mal Michael Huddo, those huge thighs, they're like tree trunks!")
:D

Great defender, great career. The Lions will miss him, but they do have a couple of up and coming defenders who will contest for his place.

I'm very sad to see him go and worry about the Lion's future. The best defender I have seen. He always laid a fingerprint or more on a footy each time it went close to the goals.

Let's send him to Iraq! He could defend it by himself he's that good! :)

Most reliable lions player during our success, you always knew he would be there doing his best. I think he won all if not most of his battles against the elite fowards of the game.

Thanks for all the memories mate!

GO MAL :thumbsu: :thumbsu: :thumbsu:
