Brisbane were massive favourites in 2004. I only remember Greg Baum off the Age tipping us in the 2 Melbourne papers. We won, Collingwood went to the bottom next year.

And he probably reckons if he knocked off Geelong in the prelim final in 2007 the flag was in the bag.

Never will forget that game, my mate said to me as Brisbane were coming out that they looked like gladiators .. but i remember seeing our players walk out with such a determined/steely look on their faces.. the rest is history. Fwiw i agree with you, Mick as much as i admire him and his coaching ability to get the best out of his players does sounds a tad bitter.. very easy to sink the boots in when a team is down though.

In fact each club that came in received diluted concessions until GC and GWS. He is pandering to his Melbourne audience so there would be an element of that in his ramblings but seriously he has no idea who we are let alone where we want to go as a club.
