Just watching Nine's Late News, and they did a preview of tommorow's newspaper headlines. The Australian (if I remember correctly) seems to have the headline 'Lloyd Calls It Quits' near the top of the page.

Lloyd will confirm his retirement at a media conference today. The Essendon captain, believing that his time is up, has opted for retirement rather than finishing his career at another club - an option that seemed available to him had he chosen to pursue it.

Don't believe until I see it.

It could be just the case of "first in, best dressed". Just have a big feeling it's all a rush by The Age to get an "exclusive" at the cost of making a mistake.

It doesn't sound like Lloyd, and it kind of contradicts his statement of not wanting to leave like Lucas did. He also seemed like he wanted to prove everyone wrong about him wanting to play in FF, or being concerned about ending up in the VFL. Or not being able to be a mentor.

Like I said, I wouldn't be surprised, mainly because his daughter has arrived and he does seem to be getting older. But physically he seems top notch and mentally he's a father, and by being a father, being a mentor is what he's all about.

I'll remain sceptical for now...
