I think the club is going to have to make some tough calls at the end of the season on some of these kids who are on the edge. Dea is one of them. There are four or five others as well.

Interesting you say this tugg...it will be interesting if a certain no 12 who has been afforded the benefit of the doubt, due to the knee and of course the blessing of the no. and who is now plying his trade at Coburg, is part of those calls. Because I see alot of names popping up in the best at Coburg, alot of them multiple times, but there seems to be not much in they way of the no 12. Havent seen how he is going, so really cant directly comment, all i can do is go by a hunch and he is toast at years end...;)

I thought he had quite a good patch in 2012 where he was quite solid. Might have strung together quite a few games if he was around a few years earlier. Problem for him now is that "solid" isn't enough to cut it with the talent running around these days.

Big fan of him though he didn't really stand out on Sunday at the game.

Definitely safe though, wouldn't/shouldn't be considered for being delisted - has a role to play going forward.

Something that Cutty might appreciate. Saw on facebook the late team change on Saturday arvo and in the comments, someone had mentioned 007 Dea. His reputation is growing! :thumbsu:

Astbury is signed until the end of 2014 so I doubt he'll be going anywhere.

I think Helbig plays the role better. I like Dea. I like how he speaks in Coburg huddles and he is real leader at VFL. I think he just doesn't have the footy smarts for AFL level. He is indecisive about when to run off and defend and when to attack the ball at times.

I would preserve with him at this stage. Has more upside then Petterd, but less then Helbig and Bacthelor imo. I think with Morris, Newman and Houli in the side - there is only room for one of the above 3.

In jam DG?????:D

Yeah I was surprised by the 2 year extension and figured he must be coming good at last but haven't heard a peep on him. Hope he makes it.

Dea is going okay, have a dozen ahead of him for the chopping block IMO
