Agreed!!! Ok he's not the best defender in the world but who is ready to step in if he were to go. The problem with Nicko is he is inconsistant. Lloyd always seems to have him in his pocket but he has done a good job on some other gun forwards this year.

If you want inside mids: McGough
Key defender: Presti
What would you trade for one of them, or both, if you would at all?
I'd consider a 3rd/4th rounder for McGough. I don't rate him very highly and wouldn't make much of a play for him.

As I said in the draft and trading board Presti is ok, but we don't really need a 26 year old good ordinary full back. I'd rather keep Nicholson on and trade for a young defender with promise or develop Ferguson.

I reckon McGough would be a very handy pick-up for us. From what I've seen, he wins the ball a lot and is good in the tough conditions, definately the type of player we'd need especially if Thompson leaves. I reckon he would be very handy for us and would give up our 3rd round pick (The Pies can then use it on another f/s ;))

As for Presti, he would be better than Nicholson I reckon so why not give him a go. Not sure what I'd give up for him, but it wouldn't be too much.

With Presti, that's the problem, they will want a lot for him. (I.e. his name has come up in return for Bruce).

Presti is ok, not significantly better than Nicho and about the same age.

Is it correct that I heard that Jolly has asked to be traded?

If this is true it could be a good thing, as it was mentioned earlier he would be very good trade value. The downside though is the need for ruckman, if anything happened to White and Jamar, without Jolly there is no experienced ruckman, that is unless the club can pick up another ruckman.

Also the development of a tall strong forward, Holland I think is too inconsistent and Neitz won't be around forever, will he?

Well i'm a Tiger supporter and i would be stoked to get Carrol and/or Armstrong. Also i am a huge Jolly fan so i may be overrating him, but has he asked to be traded? if he has i would kill to get him. Remember at the start of the year he was being touted as the next big ruckman. I think your being harsh on him.

Anyway Zantuck wants out of Tigerland heard melbourne are interested. Would you want him? I was thinking somthing similar to
Jolly+Carrol - Zantuck+pick36
Sound fair?

Also are all three uncontracted or are they still contracted?

Rivers and Ferguson could rotate from CHB and FB.

Melbourne also desperately need more crumbers. Davey is excellent but has no support. David Rodan or Mark Williams please come on down.

Thoughts?

No doubt dutchy and nicho need to go. i think rivers should only stay CHB, where he can run around, he proved this year he's good enough there.

what would everyone say to farmer as support for davey, if he was to return

Zantuck and pick 20, then we have a deal.

I'm not sure if people with agree with me here but I think Jolly is worth a lot more than Zantuck and pick #20! I reckon we should trade Jolly to a club that is desperate for a Ruckman..that way we can get a pretty good deal in return.

As for Scott Thompson I would prefer if we traded him to Port Power that we got Steven Salopek in return. If he is traded to the Crows then I'm not really sure what we could get? Perhaps Brent Reilly who is orginally from Victoria or Adelaide's first draft pick...I'm not really sure?

Personally I hope Cameron Bruce stays...because if lose Thompson, Bruce and Jolly it means that the MFC list will be unsettled and we have to develop more players quicker, such as; McLean, Sylvia, Smith, Bell etc. If we do end up having to trade Bruce as well then we should get the best deal possible...depending of which club he is traded to....that IF he is traded.

In any case I reckon the Melbourne Football Club will be very active during this year's trading period aka "meat market"

Firstly, I've heard that Luke Peel who Port drafted from Sandringham last year is not enjoying it at Port....he's a mid-sized defender that can play tall. Any interest from your lot? I doubt we'd expect much.

Secondly, we won't be trading Salopek for Thompson.

Using your words from last year.

"Your club might".

Why?

If we've got Carr, Thompson isn't an urgency.
If we don't have Carr, then we have some Freo material to work with.

This is where work is, basically. I'm from Adelaide.

The word is Thompson will be staying at Melbourne

According to whom...chilliboy?

Pfft.

Hopefully wherever you heard this is right as he is a big part of our future successes at the MFC.

So if the rumors are to be believed (and 99% of the time they're not) we're going to lose Armstrong, Bruce, Jolly and Thompson to trades. Delist Lamb and Williams and get Zantuck and god knows who else in trades. Kooky.

No I didn't and I would think you would want a fair bit for him. Thats the reason I asked the question as to what you think he will cost? I didn't want to turn this into another well if we can't have player X you can't have player Y thread.

I wanted a genuine trade value for him not a kindergarder reply:rolleyes:

In regards to Thommo I think we hold all the aces, if you want him you have to satisfy us not the other way around. Who are you offering for Thompson? As much as we luv him we can't make him stay but, if he wants to choose where he goes we need to be compensated. You might have to pay over the odds, otherwise he goes in the pre-season draft.
