I cannot see there being a better mark this year. He came from absolutely nowhere, smashed the pack and took a a ripper. Given the stage of the match his effort was enormous and then to pluck it cleanly - that is easily Mark of the Year.

He's been sensational all year. St Kilda can credit a lot of success this year to him, their desperate search since Everitt for a quality around the ground ruckman who can go forward may have finally ended. Even though he's only got a couple of years left in him, the Saints were never going to seriously challenge for a flag with Kosi and Blake rotating in the ruck.

Many had written him off, myself included, a couple of years, but he's bounced back well from both his on and off-field problems. Good on him.

It is a credit to Michael himself that he has actually hung in there and showed grit and determination to get back on the park and repay the faith the saints put in him when they drafted him.
He was always a very good player and it is unfortunate that injuries have kept him from becoming a champion. He really stood up today with King out of the side and made an impact on the game all over the ground, but when he took that mark even I a neutral supporter clapped and cheered - it was sensational.

Couldn't believe people bagged us for recruiting, especially considering how little he cost us. Couldn't be happier to see him prove everyone wrong.

Full credit to the big bloke. Hasn't set a foot wrong since he's been at St Kilda and earned the respect of the team and the coaches even when he couldn't get on the park.
Full credit for Ross Lyon too, having the balls to do what I reckon few coaches would have done. Proved me wrong and restored my faith that not all AFL coaches are prepared to take the soft option.
