Of course you pick him up if the cost is low. Nothing indicates the cost will be low.

In the scenario I proposed Darling would play 3rd tall, where I have been suggesting he is better suited to since 2014.
The fact he's out of contract does, if he nominates us then the crows will be in no position to make demands. We've had a resting ruck up forward most of the time in the last few years, clearly that hasn't allowed Darling to play the role of 3rd tall to this point, that or he's just no good at it.

As well as the retirements to Priddis and Mitchell, Masten, LeCras, Butler and Schofield should also be shown the door. I am nonplussed if Wellingham and Hill are both cut as well.

Pretty much that list right there along with Snadden, Tunners and Mcinnes would be it for me.

Supporters panicking and asking for another 4 year rebuild is ridiculous. This team needs a few adjustments, and 2-3 changes out of the best 22.
Yep agree. Still have one of the best spines in the comp. Nic nat back, a full year from Kennedy, Shuey fully fit no Priddis and a couple of changes and we look a whole lot better

Inject Naitanui, Venables and Rioli and we look a lot more damaging. Hopefully we can pick up a midfielder or 2 over the offseason that can have an immediate impact.
Injecting two debutants to make us look more damaging doesn't feel me with confidence.

Sorry to intrude fellas. I saw the OP said that Liam Duggan was possibly up for trade, or at least is not rated very highly by the poster himself! Know that he played for the Western Jets and was a Dogs supporter growing up, and that Peter Gordon our president said the club was keen on him pre-draft. What would a possible trade involve in you guys eyes?

He's started playing well the last half of the season, no chance we'd entertain a trade for him

Met a guy on a cruise from Singapore working at a coaching role with the Western Jets, he was a Collingwood supporter and was hoping both Duggan and Venables would be drafted to Collingwood - two of the best talents he's had at the club

Not a bad result for the rest of the year. If we won, the club would still be delusional about the list and competing against the top sides of the comp and we would probably be taking the same team into R1 2018.

The way we are and have been playing, we were never going to bring it to the top sides. So it's good to start clearing the list, force some retirements like we have and look forward to next year and play the yoof. The following need to go and cleaned out - Masten, Schoey, LeCras, Butler, Cripps, Wellers

With what the young guys (Karps Duggan Parto Nelson Cole Barass) and recruits like Redden and Jetta have shown this year and add to that Nics return, next year is looking pretty damn good. I can see us turning around these less than 10 point losses to wins.

Top 4 next year

Feck no. One of our hardest players already and has silky skills to go with it. Once he puts it all together, he will be a jet.

Priddis, Mitchell, Butler, Lecas retired
Giles, Tunbridge delisted
McInness and Lamb traded
Wellingham, Masten, Schofield, Cripps kept as depth no trade value. If we need to make a big trade use Lycett or Gaff to get it done keep our first pick

you can have Duggan and our first for Bontempelli .

We really have no idea how Nic is going to be like when he gets back. What we do know is very few players with knee reconstructions get back to their best and even fewer their first year back
