They had better not be stuffing up with this guy, he could be a gem. Bomber rates him very highly. Lets hope they are being super cautious!!!

Awesome. Wouldn't expect much from him over the next two years though, as broken legs typically take longer to recover from than knee reco's. It took Kelly a few years to even start looking like the player he was set to become before his leg break.

The most important thing is for him to be fully recovered by the end of the year so he can start squatting and deadlifting over summer to put on some serious pounds.
Amos confirmed he will play on Saturday. I just hope the big bodies of Port don't smash him.

Anyway I agree, like Ranga, we need to have low expectations of him for a while as he has missed so much footy, but it will be good for him, mentally as much as anything, to just be playing footy again, no matter how many touches he gets.

he is not listed on the injury list in today's Herald Sun injury list. maybe he is ready to run onto the playing field & bag a quick half-dozen sitting at CHF this weekend ?
if so it would mean The Pod will use Motlop to stay on the seniors list i suppose ....
I remember reading a while back that a new rule this year enables a rookie listed player to be upgraded permanantly from round 11 or 12, regardless of whether there is anyone on the long-term injury list, so we should have Pods for the rest of the year, assuming the club nominates him for this.

1. Yes, Pods is now on the Senior list at the expense of Motops injury rather than Mitch Brown.

2. Yes, there is a rule that each club can promote any rookie listed player to there senior list midway through the season regardless of long term injuries. (From Round 12)

Correct...it's not about being 'tied' to a specific injured player, it's simply that, if you want to have 2 rookies playing seniors, you must have 2 guys on the LTI, so since we have 1 playing seniors, and 1 on the LTI, it is fine.

I read in The Age a couple of weeks ago that the club has decided Pods will be that 'nominated rookie' for the rest of the season. Seems a sensible decision to me.

I think that it would seem a sensible decision even to a blithering idiot (read "Collingwood supporter").

Mitch will miss again this week. The club has opted to give him another week of conditioning and he will hopefully return next week. There has been no setback in his recovery this time. He is ready and raring to go as soon as the medical staff clear him to play.

We don't have a VFL reserves side; anyone not playing who is AFL listed is either being rested or is injured, and VFL listed players who are surplus to requirements for that week just play in their local leagues.

Disappointing about Brown, but good to see Ranga and West back in the side. VFL boys are also back from the demolition job in the state game last week, so hope their confidence has been boosted by the win. Also good to see Tutungi back, was one of our best players last year and could add some grunt to the midfield.

Dang that's a good team. Cowan, Hunt and Duncan...there's some nice future.

Might not be enough though...Port are a good side. I'm looking forward to the game though anyway.

Was hoping to see Mitch but ah well I'll have to wait a few weeks. Likewise with Drum, I'm surprised he's not back too.
