Prediction Moving Forward - What happens now

Barlow is one of my favorite players.

I remember his rookie year, back when I was doing Dreamteam etc, and M Barlow was huge.

I even put $10 on him for the Brownlow.

Then his leg snapped in half, and Sportsbet gave everyone their bets back, but would still honour the bet if he somehow managed to win.

He only ended up with 12 votes or so, but still, a great memory.

I changed my mind, don't want Barlow any more. Barlow will just be a temporary fix and will not get us a premiership.

We need to set our sights for 2018 and beyond. We need to get as many games as we can into our rookies who had limited games this year (Hampton, Greenwood, Milera, Menzel, etc ). I will be happy to be placed in top8 in 2017.

Then we can have another crack at securing a gun midfielder (who is willing to move to Adel!) in 2018. Given our core group of players will be getting closer towards 30, this will leave us a small window to have a crack at the flag (2 maybe 3 years).

Given our position, I think this is the best course of action.

Reading the Freo board they seem to think he was offered 1 year there

Delisted Fremantle midfielder Michael Barlow is hopeful of playing at a new club next season

SACKED Fremantle midfielder Michael Barlow is hopeful of securing a lifeline after “good strong interest” for his services.

The 28-year-old ball magnet can be signed as a delisted free agent from next Tuesday.

Barlow on Tuesday said he knew his time was up long before his meeting with coach Ross Lyon.

“I’d been prepared for this for quite some time and really respectful of the decision,” Barlow said.

“I didn’t walk into my meeting (on Monday) with any hope of a contract offer. I knew my time was up and in reality I feel that’s really the best thing for me and my football.”

Fremantle’s sudden slide from minor premiers in 2015 to winning just four games this season (16th) didn’t help his case.
“The whole football world knows the direction Fremantle are going and there’s got to be some collateral (damage) along the way,” Barlow told Perth’s 6PR radio.

“I think the circumstances of the club and the way we were travelling this year has forced the hand a fair bit of the direction of the club.”

Barlow said manager, Marty Pask, has fielded “constructive approaches” from clubs.

“We are aware of the interest that’s there … but it would be negligent of me to come out and declare any particular club at this stage,” Barlow said.

“I’d play for 17 other clubs at the moment — I’ve only ruled a line through one.”

Barlow finished 8th in Fremantle’s best and fairest despite only playing 13 games in a frustrating season marred by injury and inconsistent form.

He roared back into contention mid-season, after a stint in the WAFL, but still couldn’t win a contract extension.

“The hardest thing of the whole process was just having the discussion with (Lyon) a man that I respect so fondly … he had to do what best for his interests and the football club’s interest and we won’t agree on that but at the end of the day it is what it is.”

Barlow, who suffered a badly broken leg in his debut season, played 126 games for the Dockers after being drafted in 2009 as a mature-aged rookie.

This would cost us 3 years of first and second rounders then the AFL would work out it was us and ban the trade and take away our picks

Kane is taking a shot for Rooch's job. Can't see it happening, part of an elaborate year long troll.
