The rumour doing the rounds at the club is if West Coast lose tomorrow we will play them the following week at Freo oval
If true will be a great day:D

Almost completely agree with bradesmaen
Would prefer egirls had to play a game interstate.
They have had a super easy preseason.
Never having to travel, playing all games on the ground they play on the most.
Freaking perfect preseason :(

But i would also prefer to see them win the crab cup.
So all there knobhead fans think think they will make finals this year.
Only to see them fail an finish right near the bottom again.

Charming:rolleyes:

I'd rather we didn't have to play a derby right before the start of the season proper. The players tend to go in with more intensity than they should for what would, with any other opposition, be a completely meaningless hitout.

I'd also rather we didn't have to travel, but we should have to at least once. At least there's a week off before round 1.

here here! would love to see them do a carlton.... nah bugger it, lose the final, but still think they are on the right track, then have it all crumble down infront of them :D and to top it off. woosha get sacked, and michael broadbridge brought back to the club and given the caretaker role........... im bored

The last few years we haven't played with any intensity in the derbies. Quite the opposite infact we just fall asleep.

Would prefer not to play WCE, don't want to crush their cinderella story. Oh wait, the Pies will take care of that.

Wouldn't mind seeing them get on the road, but then, hearing Woosh in the media blaming the poor season start on the travel burden of his 'promising' youth is more priceless.

They're doing it again because its a game that is likely to get a higher than normal pre-season crowd.

I suspect the reason why Freo are going to Bunbury again is because the last match in Bunbury sold out.

AFL.com.au has announced that Etihad will be used for the preseason grand final no matter the outcome of the West Coast Collingwood game. If West Coast lose. They will play us here.

If West Coast loses to the Magpies, the Eagles will play Fremantle in a NAB Challenge match in Perth next week so that both clubs are not required to travel, given their heavy flight commitments duringh the premiership season.

heh... no matter what happens this weekend the NAB GF is being played at jihad stadium... id be pissed if it happened to us, but pleasantly surprised that it has happened to west coast. i actually hope they win against the pies now :D

Suggested team for next week - What do you think?

Ballantyne Anthony Walters
Mayne Pav De Boer
Hill McPhee Fyfe
Suban McPharlin Duffield
Broughton Grover Silvagni

Sandi Mundy Palmer

Interchange: Mzungu , Johnson, Lower. Sub: Michie?

I think Lower is needed to play as an inside midfielder, which will allow Pavlich to play forward more.

Suban is needed to play off half back, where we appear to be short of options. I would expect players like Mundy, Duffield, Broughton, Mzunga to rotate through the midfield and rest on the Half Back line.

Unlucky: Crowley - there must be a spot for him, but not sure where. Maybe Walters wont make the side.

Faulks - Grover is just above him at the moment.

id bench walters, put mayne as a forward pocket, fyfe as a half forward flanker, suban on the wing and play mzungu as the half back... but horses for courses

He also said Fremantle would aim to get its full side on the park for next weekend's final NAB Challenge match with Pavlich, David Mundy and Stephen Hill to come in.

"Now it's about getting to see your team playing together now, and we will be somewhere next week near our round one team," he said.

"That's when you start to judge us."

They scheduled us at 11am? What sort of moron at the AFL schedules these things? It's March FFS!

Last I heard it was either going ot be at Leederville or Freo, both venues with lights. Why not play it at 6pm?
