It was funny listening to SEN on monday morning. People whinging about the race being shown, instead of the golf, despite showing the golf, live, for the first 3 days. It was hilarious listening to Andy Maher sook about it, in particular :D Have to admit, golf fans were stiff!

The Sprint Cup race on ONE on monday morning outrated the new breakfast show on Ten :o ,so I think ONE made the right choice.

Who cares what "golf" fans think???????????? The most exciting thing that "might" happen on a golf course is that someone in the crowd gets hit:eek:, at least this sport has plenty of wow factor.
There will always be people whinging about what is on, if it is something that they dont want to watch.
Should be more motor racing on One.

Lol, really? That is absolutely hilarious, have you got a link to the ratings for that?

But really, with the NASCAR live on SPEED, it was a ridiculous choice to show the NASCAR instead of the golf.

Looking forward to Bristol this weekend.

Haha, wow that is bad! :D

There a regular poster on the SEN thread, peternorth. Don't know him personally, but loves his golf, if it gave him the s***s, then I'd empathise a little...But only a little! I was stoked there was a race on, it wasn't at Martinsville as well, which also made me happy. Golf fans were stiff, first three days live and the last round they get shafted!

at least this sport has plenty of wow factor.
Plenty of wow factor? 300/400/500 miles is a long way, it's not all "wow".

Should be more motor racing on One.
If I was allowed, this would be my sig!

Martin Blake made the same point regarding golf and NASCAR last weekend in The Age as well.

As for this week at Bristol, Biffle has pole from Allmendinger. Ambrose is starting P12. Hill missed out and R.Gordon withdrew after not getting on track for practice.

Marcos involved in lap 30 wreck, nothing he could do and no where to go.
Finishes 37th and drops a heap of spots in the standings.:thumbsd:
Got to get a change of luck or this season will be gone before he knows it.
The blue Duece wins it.:thumbsu:

Important race this one coming up because after this weekend we use 2012 Owner Points. Basically here's the scenario coming into this weekend.....

33: Germain #13 (Mears) 60
34: Hendrick #5 (Kahne) 57
35: BK Racing #83 (Cassill) 54
----------------------------------------------------
36: Baldwin #10 (OFH/Reutimann) 50
37: Wood #21 (Bayne) 44 (PART TIME TEAM)
38: Buckler #30 (Stremme) 44

Wouldn't it be funny to see Kasey Kahne amongst the Go or Go Homers.......Basically if the 83 car finished 4 spots ahead and the 10 team (Reutimann driving this weekend) finished 8 spots ahead then it's reality folks! BTW, the 48 team's final appeal is this week, their status inside the 35 doesn't change (they'll be down around 25th).

So onto Fontana, which was added to the IndyCar schedule for 2012 (some irony there considering deceased drivers). Those looking to make the race are.....

7: R.Gordon
19: Bliss
23: Riggs
26: Wise (R)
30: Stremme
36: Blaney (who is comfortably INSIDE the top 35 this year)
37: Hill (R)
49: Yeley
74: Compton
87: Nemechek
98: McDowell

Jimmie Johnson's penalty has been rescinded on appeal as has the owner's points penalty as well. That sees him jump from 17th to 11th in the driver's standings. Chad Knaus and Ron Malec's (car chief) penalties of a $100,000 fine remain and both are on probation until May 9.

Worlds most boring race track.Thank goodness they only race there once a year now.
Is Fontana normally a s*** race to watch? How come? I've haven't seen a full race there since Elliot Sadler won years ago. As I kind of mentioned in the other post, of all the tracks, I hate Martinsville! Hate it so, so much!
