Nathan Ablett - Performance and Interview

It's alarming obvious that this kid really can play and is improving on a weekely basis. I think all the knockers will be silenced very shortly at a senior level.

All the signs are there. His intensity has improved, his kicking for goals more than likely the best on our list (did anyone see that kick from outside 50m into the wind? Unbeleivable).

Should have kicked 6 goals, however in typical Nathan fashion, passed the ball off to others. His hands are so clean and rarely spills are mark. I'm very excited about the next 10 years with Ablett, Ablett & Hawkins. Good times ahead.

It was also very good to see Ablett interviewed after the game for his BOG performance. For someone so media shy, he speaks pretty well. Was it just me or does anyone think he talks and sounds indentical to Gary Senior?

I like the fact that he's keen on CHF. Hardest position to play arguably, but if he likes it there then he will persevere with it.

I was hugely impressed with the way he played over the last two weaks, he is really improving and should be great in the future. I thought he was good when interviewed after the game considering how media shy he apparently is. i think we've got a lot to look forward to.

Handled himself really well, answered the questions without crappy cliches (apart from the occasional yeah nah) and just seemed comfortable on the camera.

And a big get ****ed to the ****er who gave the bird through the advertising back drop.

Anyway, great game and Nath was great. Like Hoff said that kick from 50+ was fantastic. Him and Hawkins on the forward line, cant wait!

Yeahnah I'm joking. I just found it funny how he answered the first four questions with yeahnah. Watching the reply knowing he was gonna do it just makes it that much funnier.

You could notice him getting more confident in the space of that interview.

glad the kid is growing in confidence not only on the field but with the media stuff too this a great sign that he has done interview i think he is believing now he belongs at the club

Yes, CHF seems well suited to his emerging style, space to run and jump and more opportunity to bring others into the game, which seems to be his first instinct (ie not a full-forward!)

Strangely though I don't really see as much of his dad in the way he moves and attacks the ball as I do with Gary Jnr - not that there aren't similarities, but they're not as obvious as they are with Gary Jnr. Nathan reminds me more of a fit and firing Barry Stoneham in the way he moves.

I was rapt with his game, hence my thread last week. So happy he backed it up.

Couldnt be happier for the boy, he is clearly enjoying his football and that is the main thing.


He is going to be a beauty.
