Oh so we are only allowed to compare Pendles when he has a gun team around him? That truly is weak as piss! Pendlebury has only once played in a team that didnt make the finals funnily enough that was last year, i dont think you could ask for an easier run to master your craft (oh wait, you could be Joel Selwood).

Not what I'm saying, I'm just saying that Pendlebury isn't at his best because he's stretched so thin trying to carry our midfield on his own and this is severely impacting his output. I'm not saying he needs to be in a gun team, I'm just saying that right now he is our best midfielder by some distance and our next best (Greenwood and Sidebottom) being out means he doesn't have any support at the moment, when they come back I think it will afford him more freedom to start dominating games again.

Pendlebury is the third best player in the competition for mine (just behind Buddy and a fair way behind Gaz) whereas Fyfe is an established gun but he's yet to maintain that elite level for as long as Scott. He's also younger, so it's an unfair comparison because Pendlebury has had more time to show us how good he is. They also play a different style of game. Pendlebury is the silky smooth mover who has this unique ability to slow down time when he has the football and has elite disposal and ball movement. Fyfe is an absolute beast midfielder with a great overhead mark and can do almost everything when he has it. If I were to have one at Richmond I would chose Fyfe probably because he plays more 'inspirational' football and would encourage some of the pea hearts at Richmond to step it up a notch. That and he's younger. As for who is the better player, Pendlebury is for now, but only just.

I think that's why Pendlebury has been rated so high for so long. He had a top 5 midfield for the past 8 years or so.

Don't get me wrong, He is a colossus and a fantastic player, but constantly labelling him as the 2nd/3rd best in the league I think is a bit overs. There are a few other midfielders that can match his output.

I think Fyfe is ahead of him. I'd take Selwood as well.

Pendles for me would probably come next, grouped with 2 or 3 others (Danger/Watson/Mitchell)

Of course its 100% true. Collingwood kid has a good game there's a double page spread on him and there recruiting. Another team's kids has a blinder and its simply brushed a side and only when he has a bad one is clubs recruiting highlighted.

Pendlebury is as good as he could possibly be, considering his lack of pace and natural strength. He's the most efficient footballer that I've ever seen, but I'd take Fyfe - he's a bull.

Fyfe is now threatening to become the best player in the comp. That's something Pendles has not achieved. Think Fyfe is probably past Pendles now. As another example Pendles has never dominated a season or seasons in the way Dane Swan did.

nah' Diesel Williams takes that honor quite comfortably. Had to put up with consistent scrapping off the ball as well.
Pendlebury is just a Rolls Royce. Still lacks that ability to consistently lift to will his team over the line.
