Ashwin is a nightmare when the brickworks are busy. Hate that whole set up.

I hope that we are going to demand that are men’s home SANFL games are played at Thebby. It would be farcical to pay a big annual fee to participate in the SANFL and always have to play away to the traditional SANFL clubs - particularly when The Power get to play their games at home.
If would be beneficial for our young players to play on an Adelaide Oval sized ground instead tiny ovals like Norwood/Unley/Woodville and oversized paddocks like Elizabeth and maybe Noarlunga.
You got me curiousThere's no maybe for Noarlunga that ground is huge (similar length to Elizabeth, but much wider). It was partly why I was surprised they got picked for an AFLW match earlier this year.

That's racistSo Noarlunga is shorter, but fatter, than Elizabeth![]()

Interesting. Thats certainly not the case at the moment. From what I've read it seems like the Crows were formally told a few days ago that they had a commitment from the government to do it.
Direct entry and exit access from an upgraded South Rd will be built to the Adelaide Crows’ proposed new Thebarton Oval headquarters in bid to ease traffic and parking concerns.
Crows chairman John Olsen has welcomed the state government commitment, understood to have been spearheaded by Infrastructure and Transport Minister Tom Koutsantonis, whose West Torrens electorate includes Thebarton Oval.
I honestly thought "community meetings" only happened in movies to conveniently get all the townsfolk together to discuss the key plot pointThe City of West Torrens is holding a community meeting about leasing 9.1 hectares of land to the club for the project tomorrow night.
If anyone is motivated enough ... (I can't cos... err... war wound)
Community meeting
To further assist the community to make an informed decision, Mayor Michael Coxon will host a community meeting to discuss the matter of the proposed lease by the Adelaide Football Club of the Thebarton Oval Precinct. This meeting will focus on the terms of the proposed lease only.
Should the granting of a lease to the Adelaide Football Club be supported, Council has committed to holding a public meeting to discuss terms of a proposed master plan to enable the community to provide further feedback on the Adelaide Football Club proposal.
When: 6pm - 7pm, Wednesday 5 October 2022.
Where: Thebarton Community Centre, Corner Ashwin Parade and South Road, Torrensville.
Doors open at 5.30pm. Meeting will commence at 6pm sharp.
Capacity is limited for the meeting so bookings are essential. Tickets are limited to 2 per booking.
Reserve your place via Eventbrite.

Most were in the tents out the backA surprising number? Looks like about 25. Is the surprise how few?
Not from following a community FB page. Outrage at first then when it comes to attending meetings and actually putting action to concerns most fade away. Most were in the tents out the back
I'm sure they're only referring to an entry and exit from the surface road.Interesting. Thats certainly not the case at the moment.
Goes against the entire philosophy of the road design, ie trying to free up traffic flow on South Rd
Once South Road is finished it'll be due for a complete rebuild
Do we just need to get past the upcoming Council elections next month? Mayor needs to be seen to be listening to local communities at the moment. If he wins he can return to the dream of leaving a monument/legacy to his Mayorship and pandering to local businesses.I honestly thought "community meetings" only happened in movies to conveniently get all the townsfolk together to discuss the key plot point

I'm more than aware of the history and I've explained my opinion on it numerous times before.
Just because the SANFL were in a position to hold the licenses to ransom, it doesn’t change the fact that it was somewhat of an unscrupulous act by the SANFL to do it.
My issue stems from the fact that it was the AFC and PAFC who actually paid the 4 million dollars for the licenses in the first place.
Let me put it into an analogy
You take out two loans to finance the purchase of two houses of the same value for your kids, both loans are being completely paid by them.
One of the kids is doing better financially and has invested some of that money into upgrading and improving the value of their house while the other hasn't invested anywhere near as much and their house isn't as valuable as the other.
Once the loans have been paid off, both kids then come to you and ask for the properties to then be transferred to them. You then turn around and say well technically I still own both of these houses so if you want them you're going to have to now buy them from me. Then in a further unscrupulous act you punish the kid who has invested and improved the value of their house by asking them to pay 65% more for their house than the other kid has to pay.
You can say "that's business", but to me it was a blatant cash grab and another example of how the SANFL has financially exploited both clubs for their own gain.
I was responding to 1970Crow's post about buying back our AFL license from the SANFL, but it does fits into a bigger picture of the SANFL always having their hands out for money.

No, koalas do live in the wild. There are koalas on King Reserve?
What do they borrow one from Cleland for the day and take it back at night?
On that basis we should train at Richmond Oval or Alberton to better match AO.You got me curious
