The first time I came across a group of hammered folk, I hoped it would be my last.

He beckoned me in, laughed and then turned to his right into the kitchen and vomitted into the sink. I think I'd interrupted him.

A misfortune, I thought, until I walked into the loungeroom. In low light, slumped into their chairs or wall space, was a ring of smacked out people.

I was straight & sober, and only knew one other person there. Conversation was difficult, until the only other person I knew looked like he was losing it - he was firstly slumped, then visibly having difficulty breathing.

It was nasty for a while but he came good.

Not for me.

Im working New years eve unfortunately. At a certain nightclub in geelong which will remane nameless. I'll be one of those guys making sure people like you behave. The pay is sensational and it's only for one night so it's no skin off my nose.
