Must of been windy that day. 6 of the 8 goals to one end. Slime kicked 2.11 for the day with 1.6 in the last.
I think it was a warm spring day and a coolish change came through at around 3 qtr time and with it the wind changed direction so West ended up kicking with the wind for 3 of the 4 quarters

If you had the Heidelberg players that were NA on Saturday, added a few of their 2s players, and played against that Heidelberg side - you'd have a good game of footy. In fact, the NA side may win.

Hearing there was an incident between the Heidelberg coach and Mont coach in the rooms after the game on Saturday with the self proclaimed super coach refusing to shake hands with his Mont counterpart.

Self proclaimed? Pretty sure he has the runs on the board and it wouldnt be Self proclaimed. Not knowing what took place I cant imagine him not wanting to shake hands unless something untoward was said Or done.

Self-proclaimed is a big reach. Been a pretty successful coach for a while at a few Clubs. I know it's easy to think anyone can stand there and coach this Tigers team and I reckon it's a sweet gig but dealing with all the players, selections etc, behind scenes stuff I reckon it is still a job he puts a fair bit into, and clearly well.

Would hope nothing like what you have heard happens in local footy.

totally agree just sounds like another disgruntled Mont supporter jealous of the success

Pub rumor it was over attempts of poaching of u/19 players by the mont coach …???

That’s the pot calling the kettle black isn’t it. Heidelberg wouldn’t poach players from other clubs would they?
Sure they do but typically do so during the off-season and not usually on a Saturday in the rooms of an opposition club 30 minutes after the game.

Ferrenatto was a lock midway through last season. This was told to me by a Greensy person last year around this time.

It's a dog-eat-dog world, whilst I am not personally overly for it there is no doubt progressive Clubs know they need to act early and not wait until end of season.

Don't think in rooms after the game is perfect but then again whatever works. Gotta have big balls to wonder around oppo rooms with a cheque book.

Think it’s been going on during the year not in the social rooms

Vinnie has done it to Ivanhoe for the past 6 years. Vinnie was footy director of IJFC and senior coach of Heidelberg. He single handedly put Ivanhoe 5 years behind the 8 ball. They still can’t get 19s.
Was Vinnie’s already involved with Heidelberg when he was appointed at Ivanhoe? IMO just because you played juniors with ijfc doesn’t automatically mean your loyalties are tied to the senior club, which as far as I’m aware has traditionally languished in D grade ammo’s and is obviously now in 3rd Div northern. Heidelberg has been smart the way they have built up their list and under 19 program and If you’re a talented 17 year old you want to give yourself every opportunity to play the best football you can. It’s up to other clubs to catch up I don’t see them dropping off anytime soon

Exactly right. They know how to set things up properly. They have a great range of people who Know what they are doing on and off te field thats what makes them the club they are.Until other clubs can get the right people involved they will be chasing them for quite a while

It's nothing new, picture this. Coach just about to speak to his players in the change rooms after a tough loss and finds himself looking at the Bundoora football manager having a chat with one of his young players.

**Took 2 years but he got him over eventually
