Such a shame that the crowd will be small up at Epping tomorrow. Very poor viewing from the limited under cover areas too which will hurt if the rain comes in for those who do attend.

Eltham on the other hand has a massive elevated under cover area and you can actually watch the game from the comfort of the social rooms. Difficult to do that at Epping with ground view social rooms staring at the back of peoples heads.

Food for thought moving forward on 13 degree saturdays in winter.
No to mention the weather warning for strong winds and to batten down the hatches😬

Went to Eltham for the junior rep games. Large under cover area and you can watch from social rooms? Hahahha.. when people stand in front of the glass you can’t see anything and the under cover area you speak of is tinny.

Eltham is a great venue due to the elevation but don’t kid yourself about the facilities.

Eltham didn’t put in for the finals, so let’s move on.

Stay home and watch or go.. Wind and weather has played havoc every single finals series at Preston for last decade! This year will be no different by the looks of it.

Did a brilliant job of the womens grand finals on Sunday.

The sooner the mens finals are played there, the better.

Not much under cover area but their seating is fantastic. Literally no where to sit at Epping.

PCO is a far better option.

Pretty disappointing VAFA has secured Coburg and Preston and we are heading out to Lalor, Thomastown and Epping….No disrespect to those facilities during home and away but without seating and shelter it’s not ideal for finals

Was informed the asking price at PCO was crazy. Not sure of the negotiation side of things but was told the asking price was around $100k for the series. IF that is true then that is a significant ask on past seasons.

*conversation had with DIV 1 committee person after 10 pints at The Sir Henry Barclay

The guaranteed money model is stupid and won’t allow us to get the best venues. Just have a shared revenue model, will attract more clubs and venues

There's only two clubs from Div1 that frequent the venue so which Heidelberg or Banyule person was it? :tearsofjoy:

I spoke with someone involved at Preston and was told the league offered 5k plus Preston could keep BBQ turnover. Preston put in a counter offfer that involved about 10k plus a percentage of can sales, which was taken back and refused by League board. Perhaps the bloke at the pub had a stutter and added an extra zero.

Considering what individual clubs are paying to hold the finals for NFNL this year Brutal, the guy at Preston may have failed maths in year 8 or as usual only those doing the actual negotiation will know and the truth is somewhere hidden in the narrative that suits both parties.

I went to the Womens Grand Final at Eltham and watched the game from inside sitting down and had a great view.
There was a big crowd outside well below the viewing area.

Banyule straight sets

Boro fantastic today, our boys tried hard but Boro too tall and too strong. To finish 3rd in our 3rd year in Division 1 and to win 12 games is amazing.
Things haven’t gone our way late in the season but we have earnt the double chance so hopefully the 2 teams tomorrow belt the living suitcases out of each other.

In our 3 years only Heid, Mont and Nth have a better win loss ratio against us.

Didn’t mean to disrespect, has been a meteoric rise for sure.

Looks like a lot of long term injuries as well, so a fantastic effort thus far. Mclarty and Aylett have been missing a while, assume injured?

All good, McLarty was out by round 3 and aylett by round 5. We know what we need to recruit in order to be competitive, especially after today.

Had a few leave early in year so has had a big bearing on depth. Next week is a new week and we look forward to trying to make a preliminary final

Bridges looked fantastic today, ran very hard and played the big ground absolutely no worries.

Mont were extremely stiff losing Lentini in the first 30 seconds. That was Wilds third yellow but could easily be 6 weeks if it looks bad on camera.

Mont never really got going but still managed to keep it close for most of the day.

Was near on perfect conditions with very little wind.

Should have been red ,if that wasn’t red I am not sure what is was as deliberate as you could see. the man down hurt Mont as the game went on. Will be some big weeks. Umpires let the league down not red carding that.

Bridges were pats on the back and fist pumps on the bench when Wild came off, looked like a plan was executed. Wasn’t a good look.
