Didn’t Northcote merge with a club when they fell out of the VFA?

From a book I am working on ...

Northcote withdrew from the VFA in November 1984 due to the financial pressures in fielding teams in the VFA and joined the Diamond Valley Football league a few weeks later. In February 1985, the Dragons were re-admitted to the VFA after a group of committeemen agreed to guarantee the club’s debt by taking out a bank loan.

A club with a membership of as few as 60 in its final seasons according to Marc Fiddian’s history of the club, Northcote was unable to remain competitive as operating costs continued to rise. By November 1987, Northcote revealed to the VFA that it was financial unviable, had little sponsorship, struggled to attract enough players to field three teams and was unable to turn its situation around. The deathknell came when the club lost its tenancy at Westgarth Street Oval.

The VFA suspended the club for the 1988 season on 4 November 1987, though association president Brook Andersen did concede that the club had "effectively resigned" by revealing its problems to the association executive.

With the financial pickle the Bullants are in I can't imagine how devastating losing the finals would have been to them. They are hosting VAFA finals but without the opportunity to sell beers it'll be a drop in the ocean.
Them losing the finals hurt most of us….whilst PCO was far from ideal, it’s a much better option than Epping. Crowds will be down I think as it’s not the easiest place to get to.

Yep, unfortunately I can't see many neutrals heading out to see Bergs win yet another flag.

Not the easiest ground to get to via PT either. Parking is fine but most punters wouldn't want to be driving.

PCO being used exclusively as a D1 finals and D2 GF venue gave it that special feeling.
