Anyone got an update RE Lentini condition? Was a sickening blow and had my heart in my mouth. Ive heard they were friends in past, not sure the truth behind this statement...

Hardly shocked. So he essentially got 5 weeks for that.. lol.

Montmorency would be fuming.
Sad part was the predictability of that. So in effect, 5 weeks for that hit…..to think you can get 5 weeks for calling someone a name….the world is officially gone mad.

I will propbably get shot down for this...

Ok so hes got his penalty whether its light or not. The action itself wasnt good and I'm sure the player knows that himseslf after looking back on it and accepts his penalty. But in my opionion some of the abuse and words by some that have just recently came back to post isnt called for. Arent we all about mental health and stuff now? The words used not only affects the player but players brothers ( who still play ) and family. I have seen many many worse incidents than this over the years. I just think that the outcome has made people have more of an input to it. Again I dont agree with the act but I think some of the abuse is very personal and is probably not right for this type of forum. Hopefully the Mont player makes a full recovery we all move on towards the rest of finals which is something to talk about moving forward. As someone put Mont should appeal it would make things worse than what they already are.

I get where you are coming from, but what about Lentini's mental health and these types of hits that the game needs to remove?

The incident could lead to long term issues...then you have reports of the players + club being happy about it, and you want to talk about mental health due to some words being thrown at the culprit, who has probably heard it all before due to prior suspensions.

If the posts haven't been removed by mods then it's not really pushing boundaries, I reckon he'd have heard worse on game day after what he did.

I'd prefer to see top end talent in the NFNL rather than avoiding due to these acts, and that's where I feel some players will question local footy.

Where has anyone said anything that bad?

A REAL footballer expects to play the ball and does not expect to get snipped from behind by weak and gutless player like the dog Wild. Local footballers play the game and expect to go to work outside of injury, they do not expect to be bashed by a thug. A career ending suspension should be given. The coaching staff should also be held accountable! Looked like they were celebrating on the bench after the event. Round 17 and this elimination final it was demanded that Lentini was to be harassed or taken out!

I don’t see anything THAT bad there?

Reckon he had to have pled guilty, and they have given him 5 plus the one for the excessive yellows (if that is a fact but many seem to know it as true). I have heard Lentini was not called for evidence, so this backs that up as I think the process is if you plead guilty there is no need for evidence and probably reduces the sentence so a smart move as I (and many) cannot see how they could have fought it. This will also probably take away any appeal ability on sentence from them.

Was not at their Rd17 game I was told the same bloke constantly went Lentini in that game and a neutral supporter who went to 1/4 time huddle got the feeling targeting Lentini was an aim, he said this was not in a dirty way but to make sure he was tagged and constantly hassled. This is not a new tactic to put off one of the better players but may have resulted in what we have seen. As they would have played together at Pt Melbourne he would know how he plays and how to put him off. All from what I have been told someone that was there maybe can confirm?

One would think a smart move from the Club would reach out to Ben Higgins the Journo and Wild comes out and sets the record straight and apologises as we see often in AFL. I don't know the bloke but I am hoping he really did not go out and to do that which would clearly be on video and cost possible GF, whilst I think the hit was deliberate I doubt he wanted to knock him out like that, maybe more rattle him.....I dunno, would be interesting to hear his side as we heard Lentinis in the article a few days ago.

Totally agree with your comments and have to remember his brother played with guys at Mont so to do it deliberately would not have been intended to end the way it did. I honestly think if he wasnt knocked out ( and a fair bit of damage would have been done when he hit the ground face first ) we wouldnt even be having this discussion.

With Wild out and I think at least one major injury (I am sure I saw Naylor come off with a bung shoulder) and rumours from Beverly Rd is they are seriously banged up as well this week's game will be a real toss of the coin.

I think the Bears have better depth in their reserves and 19s (19s playing as well) so it could be a game of the bottom 6 in who has the better ones coming in for the injured.

During the year both games where extremely close, Bridges by 1p in Rd5 and Bears by 2p in Rd 14.

Early forecast for Sunday is 20 degrees with 3-15mm and up to 40km winds so really anything could happen.

I’ve heard they want to appeal it? Not sure how reliable the source is
